There were many homosexuals or Sodom and Gomorrha links to homosexuality. And for a city that supported same sex marriage there will be bad consequence for it, as in Matthew 10:15 – “Amen I say to you, it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.”
Jude 1:7 – “As Sodom and Gomorrha, and the neighbouring cities, in like manner, having given themselves to fornication, and going after other flesh, were made an example, suffering the punishment of eternal fire.”
Show me where it is explicitly stated that homosexuality was going on in Sodom and Gomorrha. Those two scriptures you just quoted do not mention homosexuality.

Fornication = Sex, regardless of the genders and species of the partners

StAnastasia, Homosexual and effeminate are men, they are the same, they are male thus (of a man) displaying characteristics regarded as typical of a woman. It is mentioned in >> 1 Corinthians 6:10 – “Nor the effeminate, nor liers with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor railers, nor extortioners, shall possess the kingdom of God.”
So is Orlando Bloom going to hell, then? He’s incredibly effiminate. So much so that I’m still rather of the opinion that he’s really a woman.

Only God knows. That’s why each person should oppose what is evil so that those things you mentioned should be stopped and will not happen again. “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” I spot an interesting quote on a movie review of Bruce Willis’ Tears of the Sun. The review is written by Ben Rae who is MTS at UWA. He says, Tears of the Sun is based on two ideas: 1. man’s inhumanity to man and, 2. “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” It’s a classic quote of Edmund Burke (1729-1797), but later on in the review Ben has given us his Christian view on this. He says, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” That might be truth, but what if there are no good men? That’s our situation as rebels against God. The whole of humanity is evil. How wonderful then is God, who provided us with not just a good man, but the perfect man, in his Son, Jesus Christ? The assumption of Burke’s quote is that, there exists at least some good men that can balance the force. However, in the world where there is not even one righteous man, evil has surely been triumphant, and we have all been enslaved by our own sinfulness. But our loving God did do something about the evil - he sent his son to die in our place, but also through his resurrection, death has been conquered and we no longer are enslaved. Jesus Christ is the super hero in this action movie… Taken from a webpage of scott yang’s playground.
Romans 8:7 – “Because the wisdom of the flesh is an enemy to God; for it is not subject to the law of God, neither can it be.”
I believe Jesus Christ is our savior and personal savior when we accept him and decided to follow him. And we can change the world into good, a heaven on earth, happiness with no end, when each person starts renewing his own self to the teaching of our Lord Jesus Christ and follow him.

The eye of the needle was a reference to a specific gate into the city. The gate was small, barely big enough for an unladen camel to pass through, and most camels would refuse to pass through the gate because of how small it was.
If an “eye of a needle” can mean a “gate” into a city, “adultery” can mean any illicit sex.

Well, I have to admit you got us there. We can’t show you that because you are apparently the only person in the whole world in possession of the one and only true, original Biblical texts.

I’m referring to
… The Catholic Church has no authority upon which to redefine the original Hebrew Text of the Old Testament just because they prefer to have it written in Latin. In translating from one language to another, it is easy for things to be lost in translation. This is why we study the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek texts.

This is a social engineering project to recognize non-biological compatible couples in a “marriage.” Seeking marriage rights is not the same as equal protection. And it ignores the current plan to go Beyond Gay Marriage, to an even worse social engineering project:

They forgot to include those into bestiality.
[From the link] A group of self-identified “lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender and allied activists, scholars, educators, writers, artists, lawyers, journalists, and community organizers” has released a statement explicitly endorsing “committed, loving households in which there is more than one conjugal partner.” Got that? More than one conjugal partner.
The people putting out this statement are not fringe figures. The more than 300 signatories include feminist icon Gloria Steinem, NYU sociologist Judith Stacey, Columbia University anthropologist Elizabeth Povinelli, Georgetown law professors Robin West and Chai Feldblum, the Rev. Cecil Charles Prescod of Love Makes a Family Inc., Yale law professor Kenji Yoshino, Princeton religion professor Cornel West, writer Barbara Ehrenreich, and Pat Clark, former executive director of the Fellowship of Reconciliation.

Professor Victor Klemperer was right.

where does jesus mention homosexuality?
What should be noticed is that, in the presence of such remarkable diversity, there is nevertheless a clear consistency within the scriptures themselves on the moral issue of homosexual behaviour. The church’s doctrine regarding this issue is thus based, not on isolated phrases for facile theological argument, but on the solid foundation of a constant biblical testimony. The community of faith today, in unbroken continuity with the jewish and christian communities within which the ancient scriptures were written, continues to be nourished by those same scriptures and by the spirit of truth whose word they are. It is likewise essential to recognize that the scriptures are not properly understood when they are interpreted in a way which contradicts the church’s living tradition. To be correct, the interpretation of scripture must be in substantial accord with that tradition.
The vatican council ii in dei verbum 10, put it this way: “it is clear, therefore, that in the supremely wise arrangement of god, sacred tradition, sacred scripture, and the magisterium of the church are so connected and associated that one of them cannot stand without the others. Working together, each in its own way under the action of the one holy spirit, they all contribute effectively to the salvation of souls”. In that spirit we wish to outline briefly the biblical teaching here.

In genesis 3, we find that this truth about persons being an image of god has been obscured by original sin. There inevitably follows a loss of awareness of the covenantal character of the union these persons had with god and with each other. The human body retains its “spousal significance” but this is now clouded by sin. Thus, in genesis 19:1-11, the deterioration due to sin continues in the story of the men of sodom. There can be no doubt of the moral judgement made there against homosexual relations. In leviticus 18:22 and 20:13, in the course of describing the conditions necessary for belonging to the chosen people, the author excludes from the people of god those who behave in a homosexual fashion…
You should read the entire document. I want to ask you, and the others, what authority you have that contradicts the authority of the Church in this matter?

Speaking as a bisexual woman who is also a Christian, I know the debate is not easy. However, consider this: we want marriage with our same-sex partners precisely because we believe in the sanctity of marriage. We want our union recognised by Church and State.
Gay Christians are not so rare as you’d think! 🙂 Check out gaychristian.net and others if you think I’m isolated. Frankly, I think it’s a far greater sin to give one’s body to the opposite sex in a desperate attempt to deny one’s natural feelings. Sex without love is fornication: With love sex is the highest physical expression of adoration and passion. God gave us sexual passion to express physical love and that should not be cheapened by bedding down with someone we feel only mild affection for (at best) in an attempt to be “straight.”

Any idea why we call it ‘sodomy?’ The denials are rampant on this thread. As usual with this subject.

But, it is not about feelings. Many are confused for various reasons.

Same sex attraction is a psychological problem and such a marriage would be damaging to the individuals in them.

They should remain friends, not lovers.
You are SO ignorant. The American Psychiatric Association ha snot considered homosexuality a mental disease since 1971! DO a 5 minute Google search [as should many others] and get your facts in-check.

Not that it matters, but the standard you invoke here does not prove much. First, politics plays a big role in that conclusion and secondly professional associations get things wrong all the time.

This is just more of the same propaganda to gain support from the heterosexual population which must be duped into believing that homosexuality is normal and deserves equal “rights”.

If homosexuals believe in the “sanctity of marriage,” are they committed to monogamy? No, by their own admission:
Andrew Sullivan, the homosexual [former] editor of The New Republic, concedes in his book Virtually Normal that homosexual relationships are quite different. He contends that many homosexual households reflect “greater understanding of the need for extramarital outlets between two men than between a man and a woman.”
[He even calls this arrangement “modified monogamy.”]
Contrary to the idea that same-sex couples are committed to monogamy within a lifelong committed relationship, researchers at Indiana University found that 43 percent of white male homosexuals had sex with five hundred or more partners and 28 percent had 1,000 or more sex partners!
We want our union recognised by Church and State.
Homosexual activist Michaelangelo Signorile put it much more candidly when he wrote that activists should “fight for same-sex marriage and its benefits and then, once granted, redefine the institution of marriage completely, to demand the right to marry not as a way of adhering to society’s moral codes but rather to debunk a myth and radically alter an archaic institution. …”

OK Ladybri77, I found something for you that’s not unnatural and therefore not a “perversion”: “Man has twenty-one children with eleven women”:

cnn.com/video/#/video/bestoftv/2009/05/29/pn.man.fathers.21.kids.cnn

This guy’s procreating up a storm! All natural, and not an ounce of evil, perverted contraception! He’s got the unitive dimension, and not even any NFP to frustrate the procreative dimension! And it’s heterosexual love, not the perverted homosexual kind of love!

StAnastasia
I knew you would say something about the unnatural statement. I meant unnatural sexual unions, not foreplay, but unnatural sexual unions where two people are trying to have sex away from the natural man/woman style. Sodomy. Get what I mean now?

Polygamy is a whole other issue. I believe one is committing adultery if they marry one, then marry and have sexual relations with another, so on and so forth. Not perverted sex, but adultery, but like I said, that’s a whole different issue.

Actually, it was 1973. As I have posted a number of times before, homosexuality is academia’s latest cause célèbre, and the APA, like so many other organizations and individuals, doesn’t want to appear un-enlightened, so it endorsed it for political, not scientific, reasons. In short, it bowed to political correctness. So much for the credibility of the APA.

I only asked because you indicated that effeminate men were destined for hell. So I wondered whether masculine women (e.g. who wear pants) were destined for hell as well. Is cross-dressing sinful in your eyes? Is it hell-worthy sinning?
He didn’t say it, Galatians said it, just referring to effeminate men.
