I guess I’ll keep paying attention to see if any of that starts, but like I said, I haven’t seen anything that sort yet.
What do you say if someone asks you about gay marriage? Because obviously no one will bother you if you just nod to each of their demands. Again like I said it should get worse once gay marriage is legalized, because the simpletons that are Western secular society will see legal and believe that equals morally ok.

As I said right now the discussion is relatively at equal footing, as soon as its legal they’re given permission to plug their ears and stop listening to the Catholic voice.

Oh dear! Apparently homosexuality is able to bring about the end of the world. Would be it that powerful. In fact, homosexuals are no different from you or me except when they started to get older they realized that they weren’t attracted to the opposite gender like society said they should. Instead they inexplicably were drawn to the same gender as themselves. They can’t change being homosexual any more than you can change being heterosexual.

You wrote:

“What WILL happen however, is that our Catholic faith will be trivialized down to the point where we are only remembered in equal light as Southerners for their racism.”

You make an interesting point - one in the favor of legalizing homosexual marriage. Certainly racial discrimination was (and still is) wrong. You’re the one who put discrimination based on sexual orientation in the same category.

"Expect whenever a Catholic talks about gay marriage being immoral for the secular society to plug their ears and shout back “It’s legal now so you lose!”

Except there is no law in the USA that could force a priest to marry a homosexual couple in the Catholic (or other) church. The Catholic Church could - and should - continue to stand by the declaration that homosexual relationships for Catholics is wrong, immoral or sinful. IF the USA is going to continue to license heterosexuals to get married, they can (and should) license homosexual couples. In the same way that the givernment can’t force a church to perform the ceremony, I don’t think the church should force the givernment make laws that follow the church’s point of view.

“Expect massive gay victory parades, who will no doubt attack the religious institutions who fought against them with cat-calls and by parading nearby the biggest Church they can find.”

I’m sure the Catholic will survive. They have certainly survived worse.

“Expect an even stronger media push to convert your children to the idea that “Homosexuality is not a deviancy.” and expect a higher population of society to shun you if you disagree with that notion.”

Just like how everyone would have an abortion at a drop of the hat if it were made legal? Yes, there are huge groups of shunned peoples because they morally oppose many legalized sins. Besides homosexuality is deviant only in being on one end along a spectrum of sexual preference. Yes, sexual preference is not a switch that is turned left or right. It is more of a slide toggle or volume control. Most of us fall in the moderate range. Besides millions of people have realized they were homosexual even when media strongly pushed to convince children that it was evil and wrong and deviant. I doubt - no I’m certain - that media can’t convince a heterosexual to be a homosexual because THAT’S NOT HOW IT WORKS!

“Expect all Catholic adoption agencies to shut down, with gay marriage approved they would have no legal leg to stand on and would have to either shut down or sell their soul to the Leftist government to stay in business.”

As long as they don’t take givernment support money, they can operate how they want.

“I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to be seen as the scum of the earth just because this Leftist World is working against anything that doesn’t agree with them!”

Um okay, there is so much I can write about you being seen as the scum of the earth, but I won’t go there. I’ll only add, I’m not a “Leftist”. I’m actually a die-hard conservative.

Eh. I live near a town where the mayor performed it illegally for years (not that that’s a good thing either), but it’s been going on for years in my neck of the woods, and right next door in Massachusetts. I’m just being honest, nothing’s changed as far as I can tell.
Massachusetts is the one that alerted everyone to the changes in the schools because of homosexual marriages. But don’t feel like you’ve been caught sleeping, the main media hasn’t been reporting it.

Just like how everyone would have an abortion at a drop of the hat if it were made legal?
Um…haven’t you noticed that abortion has drastically increased since it was legalized. If you look at other countries… Russian women alone average 6 abortions? ww.thefreelibrary.com/Death+in+Russia%3a+Killing+Girls%3a+Russian+women+average+six+abortions…-a0204318265 And when you consider that most of the contraceptives work by causing abortion, yes, abortions are happening as fast as the hat drops.

Really? Abortion rates have been steadily declining since the late-1980’s. Abortion rates for teens, age 15-19, are LOWER now than prior to Roe v. Wade.

Really. Ironically, you are focusing on the US abortion rates, where religious people labor to reduce abortion. In non-religious countries, such as the one I quoted, the rates sky-rocket. That is because the religious voice has been silenced. Which is what the homosexual agenda is trying to do here.

Plus, you did not take into consideration abortions caused by the pill, the patch, IUD and other contraceptive devices. These change the abortion numbers drastically.

You aren’t really trying to argue that legalizing abortion does not increase abortion? And on a Catholic list. Duh.

Oh dear! Apparently homosexuality is able to bring about the end of the world.
Not the end of the world, just one I’d rather not live in if I can still fight it.

Homosexual activists are the ones who are comparing themselves to the Civil Rights movement, I am simply giving the forum the end result of mass propaganda that will feed the children of tomorrow this idea that gay activists are trying to paint.

You misread me, I am talking about conversations between laymen and other people. No longer will anyone in public speak out against homosexuality without being shut out by the simple “It’s legal now so you lose” There will no longer be any discussion about it, society will simply blindly follow that gay marriage is equal to hetero marriage and anyone who says otherwise is simply a homophobe that should be shunned or condemned.
that media can’t convince a heterosexual to be a homosexual because THAT’S NOT HOW IT WORKS!
That isn’t the issue, the issue that I brought up was that society is telling children that its wrong to label homosexual acts as a sin. Already someone who claims homosexuality is wrong on religious reasons is seen as a ignorant simpleton and it will only get worse and more forceful when homosexual activists have the government to back them up on their lies.
As long as they don’t take givernment support money, they can operate how they want.
I can only hope that is allowed, until then the majority of Catholic adoption agencies will have to shut down. Again I can only hope in the future some adoption agencies free from the governments tentacles can pop up again.
Um okay, there is so much I can write about you being seen as the scum of the earth, but I won’t go there. I’ll only add, I’m not a “Leftist”. I’m actually a die-hard conservative.
Yes with your views of sexuality as a spectrum I can see the conservatism beaming out of you…Thinking my last post over I don’t care if I am seen as scum; I wouldn’t want to be any liberals friend who I’d have to “agree to disagree”-oh how I’ve learned to hate that word!

It is quite unfortunate that the egregious nature of the act itself becomes almost secondary in these arguments that have become more political and social in nature, rather than spiritual. However, let me lend some clarity to this contentious debate by providing the following list:

Designated elements of Paraphilia: Sadism, Transvestitism, Bestiality, Masochism, Exhibitionism, Voyeurism, Urophilia, Emetophilia, Corprophilia, Fetishism, and, among others, Homosexuality, yes…Homosexuality.

Homosexuality may have become a cause celebre among the elites, but it it what it is , regardless of it’s note at this particular moment in time. It is a disordered state of being. That we are at the stage of cultural degradation where sanctioned homosexual union is even being debated is tragic. It is very sad, and very disturbing.

Expect massive gay victory parades, who will no doubt attack the religious institutions who fought against them with cat-calls and by parading nearby the biggest Church they can find.
Already happening.
The Chicago “Gay Pride” parade route and time were changed this year to go by the cathedral. And when the cardinal objected, he was villified.

👍

(I would put the emphasis on “disturbing.”) The fact that it is being, and has been, seriously discussed as if it’s a state of purity instead of a state of disorder, shows the perversion of principles, not to mention of language.

People of both sexual inclinations can and do engage in all kinds of disordered behavior (sexual and otherwise), but generally even the most tolerant of societies stops short of enshrining with special status, privileges, and significance, those who engage in such behaviors.

It’s extremely extremely disappointing that he back peddled and alluded to changing our Teaching and that it’s an ongoing discussion. 😦
Yes, it is. It was enough to issue a clarification.

To issue a further apology in the face of bullying and threats by the homosexualist activists seems to be appeasement, which we know doesn’t work.

I read about those issues in MA on CNN and some friends who go to school in MA told me about it. That’s more of an issue of the nonsense that goes on in our schools than gay marriage. I have rarely discussed gay marriage with my friends, but I have said that I support traditional marriage and limited gay rights. I have yet to meet an adult believes legal=moral.
Just to be clear, I’m no crusader for either side of the gay marriage debate, even though I do not support it. I’m just saying that gay marriage has been going on in my neck of the woods for a long time and I haven’t noticed any changes.

I support traditional marriage, but certain things such as civil unions for gay couples. Honestly, I’m from New York and I really haven’t notice the fabric of society crumble since gay marriage was legalized 🤷.
Perhaps you’d like to do more reading and try this on for size…

Scholars, lawyers, educators, community organizers, religious leaders and other “respected” members of society are now endorsing loving households in which there is more than one conjugal partner.

Here is the "New Strategic Vision For All Our Families and Relationships"beyondmarriage.org/

You take down the meaning of marriage, and society falls with it.

In addition to polygamy, pedophilia is now being floated.
The Canadian Parliament heard all about how it is a “sexual orientation” just like homosexuality; take that to its logical conclusion! The Greek government has pedophilia listed as a “disability” and pays pedophiles welfare. And the academic elites are pushing adult-child sex.
In 1990, the Journal of Homosexuality published a double issue devoted to adult-child sex titled “Inter-generational Intimacy.” David Thorstad, former president of New York’s Gay Activists Alliance and a founding member of the North American Man/Boy Love Association (NAMBLA), writes that “boy love occurs in every neighborhood today.” The movement continues but has gone underground since NAMBLA found itself embroiled in a $200 million wrongful death and civil rights lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Boston. The suit claims that the writings on NAMBLA’s website caused NAMBLA member Charles Jaynes to torture, rape, and murder a 10-year-old Boston boy.

I’ve never understood how it’s a threat to humanity. If homosexuals get married, then I, as a married heterosexual, will stop having kids?
It interjects nihilism into society on the most basic level and other parts will erode as time goes on. In fact this argument on marriage is what people such as yourself swore would never ever happen a couple of decades ago when the gay rights movement first gained notoriety.

Political. Yes. And people who hold the wrong views are losing their right to free speech.

Christian Soldier Vicki Knox to be fired for opinion against homosexuality?
The National Organization for Marriage reports that the Union Township school board has filed charges against Vicki Knox, the New Jersey school teacher who was brought to national attention when she posted pro-traditional values comments on her Facebook page. . .
How interesting that in such a short space of time we’ve gone from criminalizing deviant homosexual behavior to persecuting anyone who speaks out against such behavior.

Yes - their initial goal is to de-sensitize society and mock and scorn traditional values until they are considered irrelevant. Forty years ago, divorce was considered a stigma of sorts - now look at the numbers of single parent families and unmarried unions that is considered the norm today.
