We live in absurd times, when the inverse reality has taken over the public square. Let’s take a biblical scene and transport it to our current age: The angels visited Sodom, and Lot invited them into his home, but the inhabitants of Sodom pressed against his door and demanded, “Bring those men out to us that we may have initimacies with them”. However, Lot resisted their demands. Now, in the modern media depiction of this, Lot would be cast as an archconservative reactionary who wasn’t progressive enough in his views. He would be cast in the role of being a “divisive” figure. The perverse mob, on the other hand, would be presented as victims of discrimination.
I remember in my teen years thinking that the story of Sodom and Gomorrah couldn’t possibly be true. It seemed so far fetched. An entire city couldn’t be so sexually perverted. And yet, just a few decades later, I see it happening here. I can see the laws being changed so that preventing someone from have sex with my child would be child abuse on my part, because I’m violating my child and the predator’s civil rights.

You’re not far off. When the APA (American Psychiatry Association) wants to mainstream pedophilia, we are really in deep trouble.

Statistically, children raised by homosexuals adopt the homosexual lifestyle.

It is one thing to oppose same sex marriage on religious grounds. It’s another thing to allow that opposition to lead you to believe and report anything you hear that is anti gay. That’s bigotry. The idea that lesbian couples have more lesbian daughters because they teach their children to hate men is pure bigotry and hate. It is based on nothing but prejudice and has no basis in reality (it’s a stereotype from the 70s). It demeans Catholics to repeat these lies and stereotypes. It is far better to stick with religious conviction than to meddle with the bigots and haters out there whose prejudices have nothing to do with God.

I don’t’ know if the comments represent the average person or not, but obviously the message of how homosexual marriage affects everyone else, is not getting out.

legalizing homosexual marriage means that homosexuality is taught in the schools as normal and acceptable, and anyone saying opposite is silenced or punished.

Legalizing homosexual marriage means that adoption and foster care services must send children to homosexual couples.

Legalizing homosexual marriage means that religious organizations who have been taking care of orphaned and abused children are expelled from their own ministry.

Legalizing homosexual marriage contaminates the respectability of traditional marriage.

Any more?
So does legalising Fornication and Adultery!🤷

When will they legalise marriage to a Animal?

If that guy is a doctor, and is stating the conclusions he has made from a study that he has done, how is it bigotry to repeat those findings? You can by all means disagree and use other evidence to support a different view, but to attack someone for posting a link to an article on a scientific study, just because it states that a study has a conclusion that does not fit your ideas would be bigotry in itself would it not?

Just because someone is a doctor does not mean that they are not bigoted or that their findings are not warped by their ideologies. There have been many large scale studies run by scientists who have no particular agenda who have found that the children of gays and lesbians are virtually indistinguishable from children raised by heterosexuals. Don’t take my word for it just do a google search. These studies all say that children of same sex parents don’t come out more gay or more anything else. The fact that this doctor thinks that lesbians hate men suggests to me that he is prejudiced and ignorant and that his science is far from objective. I think Catholics should make a distinction between what their faith tells them on the one hand and spreading lies by pseudo scientists and others who let their biases determine their findings on the other. The one is based on Christian doctrine, the other is just wrong and harmful. I think it demeans Catholics to repeat those kinds of things without trying to find out the facts.

For every source you link to, I can find several to dispute it. Many of us, unfortunately, are getting first-hand experience in real life situations since the children of gays are becoming more commonplace. Forget the studies - we cannot judge the scientists, nor know their agendas, but we can see for ourselves the harm being done as our children interact with non-traditional families on a day-to-day basis. As Christians, we are to use spiritual gifts, such as discernment and prayer in our search for truth and what is good or not,.

Bigotry and hate? Who said anything about that in the article? What it said was that because the gay life style is “modeled” from a very early age, children have a tendency to prefer same sex relationships, just like their parents. This is logical. Children become what is modeled by their parents. They “soak in” more or less the values of their parents. This is a fact, and is common knowledge. Therefore children raised by gay parents are much more likely to have gay sexual relationships when they are grown. Parents be they gay or straight have more of an impact on child development by the things they DO than what they tell them. By what they model for them. Teaching them to hate one sex or the other doesn’t have anything to do with the equation. I don’t believe I read that in the article. How can children grow up to believe that gay relationships are sinful , even when it is against natural law, and even when the Church says that it is wrong, when their own parents are modeling this for them? Can anyone say “confusion”? It is extremely detrimental for children to be raised in gay homes. No doubt about it. Common sense tells one that, but then again, common sense is not the in thing in 2012.

Many good points here I agree with the comment that Homosexuality and Heterosexuality in the context of marriage are two opposing views. It’s like asking Satan and Jesus to coexist in peace. It can’t happen. Marriage is made in the image of the Holy Trinity.
—> “Let us make man in OUR image after OUR likeness” genesis1:26. That OUR is the Holy Trinity. Husband imitates our Father who is head of the household. Wife imitates Jesus who is meek and humble, Children imitate the Holy spirit who binds the marriage in beautiful exchange of love that reflects that exchange of love within the Holy Trinity itself!!

That perfect familial love is the key to salvation because we are making Gods love physically present in the world through loving Families. Each member of the family has a Christian duty to give Gods love freely to all the poor and poor in spirit including Homosexuals.

Here is a good point Fr. Barron made ( word of Promise). Satan takes Biblical truth and perverts it. Satan believes in God, he knows Scripture, the only difference is, he doesn’t
love God. So he will take all God’s truth and perverted upon non- believers. That’s why devout Non Christians like Jews, Muslims, etc have strong families too. They know the truth and God is with them.

If you look at all Religious families across the board, who are loving and devout, they are all large, devout, they are loving, hospitable, they have their customs traditions, etc. All do everything almost exactly the same! I mean Jews, Muslims, Christians, Hindu, Buddhist, etc. The common denominator is in the proof of Gods glory, the fruits of their labor.

Homosexual families ( though there are exceptions) are missing God’s perfect love that is revealed through the opposite union of a man And wife, you Have to Have Two opposites to mąkę the perfect ‘pie’. Not just physical but temperaments are always opposing because the whole point of marriage is to fulfill what the other lacks in their temperment. When a man an woman get mądrość they litarelly become God’s perfect love, akcent over time.

Our enemy has perverted the beautiful hearts homosexuals Have into his image. I have known homosexuals and they are some of the most beautiful people I have ever met in my life. Only through love, can we share this truth to them. Like that Christina Aguilara song, ‘You are beautiful’ . Not with anger, not with own opinions on marriage but by sharing God’s perfect love to them. Love them perfectly as God loves them through humility not pride. A chaste homosexual couple who loves our Lord and is devout and personally i dont see why they cant live like brothers and sisters, and lives their life according to Gods will can achieve something far better than physical intimacy. Because Y’all do know that your spouses and children are actually your brothers and sisters?? Because in that respect maybe homosexuals can teach us something?

The last thing I’m going to say is that our administration is using homosexual marriage, in my personal opinion, as a personal agenda and nothing to do with their civil rights or their concern for them. This may be a far stretch but in the light that our administration is shoving this agenda worldwide, homosexual rights, abortion, contraception, accusing other countries of having too high of a fertility rate is almost obvious that their agenda seems to be decreasing the world population and nothing to do with peoples personal dignity. It’s stretch though… I could be wrong.

Backlash Begins Against Obama’s LGBT agenda

Great post!!! Thank you for the info. This is correct. If we have learned anything about the culture in the Middle East we have learned they do not approve of homosexuality. They too believe that homosexuality is opposed to natural law. I doubt that anytime soon the pro homosexual agenda will catch on anywhere in the middle east.

But in this country they are going gangbusters.😦

10 Reasons Why Gay Marriage is “Wrong”
  1. Being gay is not natural.
~ Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.
  2. Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay …
~ … in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.
  3. Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior.
~ People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.
  4. Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn’t changed at all …
~ … women are still property, blacks still can’t marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.
  5. Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed…
~ … the sanctity of Brittany Spears’ 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.
  6. Straight marriages are valid because they produce children.
~ Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn’t be allowed to marry either.
  7. Obviously gay parents will raise gay children…
~ … since straight parents only raise straight children.
  8. Gay marriage is not supported by religion.
~ In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That’s why we have only one religion in America.
  9. Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home.
~ That’s why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.
  10. Gay marriage will change the foundation of society…
~ We could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven’t adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.

When we examine the Obama Administration and its sanctioning of this overt and aggressive promotion of the LGBT agenda, the onion must be peeled back to the point where the core principles at the root of this radicalism can be found, and then, further still, to the icons and role models who form the fundament of this counter-cultural, anti-Christian ethos.

Two figures who figure prominently in this unholy enterprise are, Harry Hay and Frank Kemeny. Hay, the NAMBLA posterboy, was the influencial hero of former Safe Schools Czar, Kevin Jennings, a man appointed by the President himself. Kemeny, who is on record as sanctioning Bestiality, and who has attacked Christianity with a venal hatred that has bordered on the Satanic, has been given revered status among the Obama inner circle, such as Jon Berry and others.

This “Gay Marriage” issue is not some banal extension of the Civil Rights Movement, rather it is an insidious part of a broader counter-cultural, anti-Christian movement whose driving forces can be revealed as depraved, vicious and malevolent human beings committed to destroying the very fabric Western Civilization, and its Christian underpinnings.

These people are on record, for anyone who cares to do the research. This is a group that is sophisticated in its methodology, but they are not vague in their intentions: They want to eradicate Christian moral teachings from the culture. It is more than a mere political movement to them; it is their religion.

Another excellent post!!! Might I add that this “religion” of theirs, some call it extreme ideology, is yet part of a larger movement spearheaded by those that are working for bringing “religion” under one banner world wide. And it’s NOT CHRISTIAN. President Obama I believe is a “yes” man, however, a very enthusiastic “yes” man as he is of the same ideology. I believe him, as I always have, to be a very very dangerous man. I am still upset about the fact that sooooo many people (and Catholics in particular!) voted him into office either out of ignorance or naivety. What does it tell people when he makes comments on the campaign trail such as: “People clinging to their guns and religion”. And…they STILL vote for him? REALLY?

Yes, that says it better as contained in the gay apologetics playbook and websites!

Pope Benedict wrote about “Catholics” belonging to pressure groups of various names and sizes, in attempts to confuse and give the impression that gay “marriage” can be anything but against Church teaching.

From CDF Letter to the Bishops on Pastoral Care of Homosexual Persons
The Church can never be so callous. It is true that her clear position cannot be revised by pressure from civil legislation or the trend of the moment. But she is really concerned about the many who are not represented by the pro-homosexual movement and about those who may have been tempted to believe its deceitful propaganda. She is also aware that the view that homosexual activity is equivalent to, or as acceptable as, the sexual expression of conjugal love has a direct impact on society’s understanding of the nature and rights of the family and puts them in jeopardy.
and this

Some of these groups will use the word “Catholic” to describe either the organization or its intended members, yet they do not defend and promote the teaching of the Magisterium; indeed, they even openly attack it.
Your profile indicates Catholic, but are you “Catholic” in the sense as described in the cited Letter by the Pope? Do you belong to such a “Catholic” group that attacks the understanding by society of the nature and rights of the family, instead of defending and promoting the teaching of the Magisterium?
