I’d like to get people’s impressions of this article about a gay priest in New York who came out publically from the pulpit. Although he calls himself a celibate gay priest, I’m concerned about his position on homosexuality. Although not explicit, his quotes seem to imply an approval of gay relationships and an embracing of the gay culture (note his explicit use of the word “gay” when describing himself). It’s this sort of rhetoric that confuses the faithful on the church’s stance on homosexuality, in particularly actively sexual homosexuals.
