Ongoing aerial bombardments in Gaza are causing great difficulties for the residents, including its small Christian community.

I have long believed there is just no future for Christians in the Islamic world. Possibly not for Jews either, but they, at least, have some ability to defend themselves against Islamic dominance, which the Christians outside Israel do not.

There is no evidence, none, that Gaza Christians are firing rockets into Israel.
The rationalization will probably go something like “the rain falls on the just and the unjust alike.” A pitiful use of scripture it would be, in my opinion.

This story is about the *Israeli *military bombing Christian settlements.

Edit: I personally am not particularly fond of the killing of Muslim civilians either, but that’s just me.

I am not sure if Christians make as sympathetic a pawn as children since nobody much cares about the Christians of the Levant anyway, either inside or outside of the NE.

Then again, firing rockets from schoolyards and the like probably has certain drawbacks for Hamas and the terrorists too. Even if the people aren’t saying anything about it, no doubt they seethe too, as their children get sacrificed as pawns.

But for sure, their is no downside to drawing Israeli fire onto the Christians. Islamist would prefer their areas to be ethnically cleansed of this ilk at any rate.

The Israelis, however, are not pawns of Hamas. They make their own decisions, and they should be held responsible for their own actions. It is needlessly roundabout to blame Hamas for what Israeli bombs do to Christians instead of the Israeli bombers who did, after all, drop the bombs.

I am not blaming anybody actually, nor moralizing on what any of the players really ought to do.

The Israelis answer to their own electorate. If this is not the best response to rockets being fired from the churches or schoolyards of Gaza, then it is the responsibility of the Israelis to defend their interest better.

What Americans are finding in their own drone strikes against terrorists, is that nothing is better than information coming directly from the ground as to where the terrorists are at.Christians of the region might be a good source of such information, if they should so choose.

Of course Hamas could well crucify their corpses to trees as a response to such Islamic activity, now that that is the la of the land. That might be one way for them to respond, if they should so choose.

Other than that, this is between Hamas and Israel. The world has failed to bring peace. So the world does not need to advise them as to where their best interests lie. Outside interference so far has solved nothing.

Enough that we have the correct understanding of what is happening.

So, for example, it is needlessly roundabout to blame the Nazis for, say, the Falaise Pocket casualties among the German trooops in WWII, and the Americans and Brits should be blamed instead because, after all, they, and not the Germans, dropped the bombs.

I was referring to the terrorists who launch rockets and fire mortars into Israel, not the Gaza Christians.

I don’t believe there are any “Christian settlements”. Christians are a miniscule minority in Gaza and live amongst the Muslim population.

Israel is targeting the terrorists, not the Christians.

I am quite sure that everybody fully understands that, but it is good that it is now an explicit point, in case anyone disagrees.

The rationalization is, rather, that the Palestinians have such an irrational hatred of Israel, that they welcome the loss of their own people if those people happen to be Christian.

This is just so sad. The Gaza Christians have done nothing wrong and yet they have to suffer because of the wrongs of others. I hope and pray that peace would eventually come to the area.
