I would say that RCIA and CCD catechists need to reflect upon the mission given to them by the Catholic Church, and operate within the guidelines provided by the Church.
According to the Guide for Catechists from the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples:
“What catechists teach should not be … the sum of their personal opinions but the Church’s faith, which is the same throughout the world.”
Has the Church ever taught it’s OK to call our Father a “mother?” If not, is this an opinion or the Church’s faith that she is sharing? It’s OK to have theological opinions, but when one is charged with being a Catechist for RCIA, one needs to keep their opinions to themselves and teach what the Church herself teaches.
