The moderators don’t have to say why they did something, I don’t think we’re allowed to ask them, either. It would be nice to know, though… I looked through the list of banned topics, and it didn’t seem to fit in. Maybe somewhere the OP gave the name and location of the school where the girls were at? Because I don’t think that’s allowed, under the not naming people who are committing Liturgical abuses one, possibly. That’s my guess, anyway.

Hi everyone. I go to school with mgmahoney, we are both seniors, and she wanted me to tell you all that she will miss you and these forums. I don’t want to get into the particulars about why she was banned, but it seems the mods didn’t like that she posted her slideshow.
These forums look really good, and I don’t want to jeapordize my membership by talking about her, other than to say she feels bad, and she apppreciates all your feedback.
We are going to take that slideshow to the adminsistration and see if we can get them to take action on it and get the uniform changed to give us more reasonable options.

although, if i were filming those girls (oh the words i could of used), forget admin and teachers, this thing was getting edited, put to music and straight to youtube!
hey, they wanted people to see there butts, now the whole world could!
but maybe thats just me and my sadistic ways.And as for the OP’s problem, take it up with the school, and try really hard to get it changed, and if that fails, wear shorts under your dresses.
oh the beauty of my highshool.
wideleg full length pants for all girls… i never even touched a skirt.
the only drawback was the pants were beige and the material was a little thin, so it was kinda awkward at ‘that time of month’ but my teeshirt was so long no one ever knew

The funny thing about your advice is that while wearing shorts underneath the uniform is not specifically prohibited, not many of the girls wear them because teachers hand out detentions if shorts are seen below the hem.
Gee, the jumper already rides way up inappropriately, lets make sure our girls don’t think about wearing modesty shorts underneath…(sarcasim here…)

I do wonder what reason a Catholic school may cite for maintaining a uniform which causes girls modesty problems. I do not believe there exists any such valid concern. My husband and I both saw it. It was embarassing, to say the least. I really feel for these girls and thes euniforms. My husband is convinced the school is getting kickback from the uniform company.

I graduated catholic high school five years ago and had similar issues with my uniform. We had to wear a skirt (not a jumper thank God), but our skirt didn’t have pleats which made it tight around the hips. It would ride up when sitting or going up stairs.
Personally, I don’t like the look of the stereotypical schoolgirl uniform – and I was used to being able to wear jeans to school. However, I went to catholic high school, and for my freshman and sophomore years, girls wore tights with their skirts.
In my junior year, we got a new male principal who changed the girls uniform to prohibit tights because he felt they looked too much like pantyhose. He made us wear knee socks instead.
Honestly, I thought I looked like a s*ut in the new uniform. I dreaded wearing it, and hated the way guys would stare at my legs.
I think there are men in positions of authority who like making schoolgirls dress like this. I have no other explanation for what happened at my school, and it sounds similar in the OP’s situation too.
Well in my case, I would say it has to do with men in charge at school. I went to public school up to high school, and my parents pressured me to go to catholic high school when the time came. I was hesitant to do it, and part of it was because I had never had to wear a uniform before.

This was also true in my school. Our new principal tightened up the dresscode to make it a demerit if shorts were seen below the hem. Girls stopped wearing shorts underneath for modesty as a result.

The stereotypical Catholic schoolgirl and the “usual” Catholic schoolgirl need to be separated.
My girls wear the jumper a couple pages back in this thread, the “baby” jumper. But they are little girls. My adult daughter didn’t have a uniform but a dress code that was more problematic than a uniform! It was the one advantage to home educating her for the rest of high school, the “dress code” of her former school! The local Catholic high school for girls here offers a summer and winter uniform. Both are long enough and wide enough at the hem to mountain climb, if necessary. This school is run by an order of sisters. The co-ed Catholic school has one uniform skirt, also wide and long at the hem, but offers a trousers option. It is principaled by a diocesan priest.
I don’t think the men in charge are necessarily perverts. I just think they don’t think.

Hmmm. I don’t know about that. While he may deserve the benefit of the doubt at her school, he did do enough ‘thinking’ to remove their tights and make them wear knee highs. If their skirts ride up, he obviously must have seen this and approved of the new uniform appearance.

She has a point. I didn’t see the OP’s example photos, but it sounds like they showed enough to skin to bother alot of forum members here.
It’s terrible to think that maybe some men in positions of authority would exploit girls of high school age in this way, but it certainly is possible.
