And have you posted the same on a gay forum or did you just post this here on a Catholic forum to boost the anti-gay votes oh dear, oh dear
What do you mean by ‘broaden the sample range’? The only thing I can see you doing is to tamper with the ‘sample range’
Oh, no, I see I’ve not been very clear!
The survey is being posted on many many forums, but the forums they were first posted to were gay rights forums, so for the first few days the results were skewed in their favour.
The forums that it’s being posted to are mostly not specifically “pro” or “anti” gay marriage, for example forums about keeping snails as pets, forums about horticulture, and forums about crafts.
And the point of the survey is not specifically on the amount of people “for” or “against” gay marriage, more about the reasoning behind people’s decisions- what makes someone decide to take a stance against gay marriage? what makes someone decide to support gay marriage (especially if they themselves are not gay)? Are people making decisions based on their own morals and opinions, or simply copying the decisions of the people around them, without much thought as to the ethics behind their decision?
There is a list of forums, ranging from ones where she expects the majority to be pro gay marriage, to ones where she expects there the majority to be anti gay marriage. She began working through the list, but the first ones to come up were ones that she expected to be “pro” gay marriage. As she was beginning to worry that if for some reason she was unable to conclude the distribution of the survey, she would have nearly no information on the reasoning behind individuals’ decisions to be anti- gay marriage, I volunteered to help her through the list, starting with forums where she expected there to be more people who were anti gay marriage.
Oh, and I want to add that she doesn’t think that Catholics hate gay people (she’s met me

)! We are just one in a list of religious groups whose official stance is that gay marriage should be forbidden. The religious forums I have visited thus far have been quite positive, with people who are prepared to think about WHY they are pro- or anti- gay marriage, and accepting of the fact that I am Catholic. The bad ones have been where I have had to visit forums where there is blind hatred (of women, of different races, of homosexual people

), where people do not even want to fill in the survey, because they do not want to have to justify themselves
Clearly, I am not very good at communicating any of this! I wonder now if asking an arts student was the best idea

I am not very good at conveying my meaning!
I hope that this very long post made sense! And many thanks to those of you who have filled in the survey!
