More likely via fraud.

You’ve never heard of dead people voting? 😉
Dead people and park benches are not necessarily illegal immigrants. Of course it all depends on how you define illegal immigrants these days. 🙂

If the GOP goes down, a new party will move into its slot. The 2PS will remain.
Fair point. They might as well call themselves the Blue Party or the Red Party or change the names every four years.

Canada is pretty much a two party system with a third waiting in the wings. Conservatives have always been schisming from each other. There was a progressive movement from before I was born that morphed into the Progressive Conservatives, and then a Reform movement schismed off of that and then united into the plain old Conservatives.
Liberals had always been the main governing party until ten or so years back, and then they were swept away and the socialists became the opposition. People wondered too then whether the Liberals would ever come back, but they did, and people wondered the same about the Progessive Conservatives too after Reform broke the party in half.

The thing is that there usually comes a point when people can no longer stomach the party that is in power. At that point it does not really any longer matter who the party waiting in the wings is. It only matters that they are not the same incompetent, corrupt yahoos that hold power at that point of time.

I think there’s great potential for whatever emerges from the GOP’s wreckage (if it indeed doesn’t survive) to be far closer to what many CAF posters hope for, providing it’s created from the ground up.
Yes, I’ve pondered that possibility too. But I’m skeptical it will have much political clout, for a while anyway. This whole situation might simply be part of our national Christian penance. Pope Benedict didn’t foresee Christian political strength any time soon, and I tend to agree with that forecast. Time will tell, though.

I imagine that whoever replaces the GOP will have at least three presidencies in the shadows to grow out of. Republicans nearer the center will become Democrats when the GOP goes down. It will take that long for a majority to get tacked-off enough for the new party to gain traction.

Lol. I think a lot of people are ticked off now. Anyway, I guess we’ll see in November. I never thought Trump would get this far, so I won’t say he can’t win.

I think the point is that the Republican party may not survive this election.
Then who will take it’s place? I think that if the Republican party is destroyed, then that will just ensure the Democrats’ defeat because one party systems do not work.

So you think people will keep voting for Democrats for that long? I can’t really see that because the odds of defeat are rising against the Democrats every time they win. Sooner or later they’ll lose.
