Georgetown University, the oldest Catholic University in the U. S., has hired lesbian Shiva Subbaraman to act as director for its new Homosexual Campus centre that is to be opened in the fall…
Georgetown University, which is fully funding the new homosexual campus centre, including paying for two full time staff members, has been known to proclaim itself a Catholic institution while going out of its way to support things dramatically opposed to Catholic teaching, including abortion, homosexuality and certain bioethical issues.
Shiva Subbaraman, a fellow immigrant and associate director of the school’s LGBT Equity office, helped Gupta come out, he said, and ultimately made him “comfortable being a queer student on campus.
Who is the bishop or Cardinal for that school?

“In addition to KhushDC, Subbaraman has been involved with other local groups including Asian Pacific-Islander Queer Sisters (APIQS)”

There isn’t a ‘bishop’ for that school…it exists in the archdiocese of Washington, DC…but it’s not accountable to the local ordinary (per se).

The only thing the archbishop could do is to stop the college from calling itself Catholic.

This is good for Georgetown. 👍 Who else to coordinate GLBT ministry than by one who knows what it is to go through it. This should be a positive outreach effort and not one which helps them accept there preferences as just part of themselves and does not degrade them by a type of fire and brimstone approach, which is the worst thing to do.

Perhaps you are not a Catholic, but all the same the Catechism of the Catholic Church says of homosexual acts, “under no circumstances can they be tolerated”(section 2357) If you are interested, you can google to the Catechism to see what it says.

I spoke with a person from archbishop Wuerl’s office and she(won’t post name) cordially listened. I said exactly that, that the school should should no longer be Catholic and if archbishop Wuerl won’t do that or can’t contain them then maybe we need someone that can.

I don’t think that the intention is to minister to homosexuals per se. It appears to me to be a case of catering to a segment of the population that will be a good source of revenue for the school, all the while putting on an aire of acceptance. I expect to see more celebration of the homosexual lifestyle/culture than actual ministering (i.e. getting them to accept Jesus as thier savior and swear-off thier homosexual conduct).

IMHO.
