I can say this: human life is sacred.

On what basis in this case, would you have to say the law was “wrong”?The law may not care. But since you are on a Catholic forum and the bishop is a Catholic, we do care. If the law is wrong, then we do not care. We will say what has to be said.
Chinese law does not allow public expressions of faith. This law is immoral. Therefore, we don’t subscribe to it. It also approves of forced abortions. We don’t subscribe to that law either.
Law is only legitimate when it protects the rights of the innocent and the dignity of people. We would appreciate it that if you’re going to speak to Catholics in a Catholic forum, you use the proper language. Joseph Ratzinger’s title is the Pope or Pope Benedict, not “your blessed pope.” Blessed would be if he were dead and were beatified.

Which law are you asking about, the German law?
I don’t believe that law is wrong at all. It protects the dignity of the innocent and it helps people remember the horrors of man’s inhumanity to man. Bishop Williamson did violate the law. I think that the fine is a little steep, but that’s another story.
By the way, he’s not a Mr. He is a real bishop. He is Bishop Williamson. If you were in Canada or the UK he would be Dr. Williamson, because the British custom is to call Bishops by their academic title. But the rest of the Roman Church uses Bishop. Bishop Williamson is a validly ordained bishop. A little different, albeit, but still a valid bishop.

i feel for bishop Williamsom. he is being persecutedl. this is just another way of persecuting the Church. they are coming against the Church in every way they can. and i cannot imagine any Catholic joining the world to persecute this bishop. this man has done nothing wrong. while the world persecute those who loves the Church, those whose mission is to destroy the Church are receiving all the praises and glory from the world.
Pray for the good bishop.

I feel that Bishop Williamson should be made to pay his fine; he needs to be accountable for his words and actions.
I don’t feel that holding him accountable is in any way persecuting the church. He separated himself from the church years ago.
