Hey,
Before I start I’d like to point out that I’ve only just started the RCIA (two weeks in) so this is a long-term idea. If I could be received into full communion with the Church tomorrow I would, but I know that patience is a virtue and receiving Christ in the Eucharist will be well worth the intensly unbearable wait.
I have been feeling recently that I want to become a nun. I’m single with no kids and feel called more and more to the convent. When I pray I feel this deep sense of peace and joy that I have never felt before. I spend much time at work wishing I could get away to go and pray, read Sacred Scripture or attend weekday Mass. These feelings have been playing on my mind so much of late I’ve done some research into the subject but don’t know quite what to do. Because I have a debt to clear and a dog that would be completely heartbroken if I left I’ve set myself a target of five years to see if this is truly my calling. Part of me is scared that I’m “seeing signs” too early on and may make the wrong decision.
Should I wait the five years out and see how I go or go to someone else for advice? I’m hesitant to ask anyone else purely because I get a little…over enthusiastic and it startles people sometimes.
ttfn and God bless,
Katherine
