I donāt think it is a sin to get angry. I think Jesus said somewhere in the bible that it is ok to be angry so long that anger doesnāt make you fall into sin, and also that our anger shall last only up to before sunset.Jesus told us that to be angry at another human being is a sin.
Anger is a sign that tells us that an injustice has occurred. We can react to our feelings of anger in sinful ways, or we can react productively, by removing the source of the injustice.
If an animal violates my personal space (jumps on me, for example), an injustice has taken place. QUOTE]
I would say that anger more often results from frustration, not āinjusticeā. A dog jumping on your lap is not an injustice! It is just something that happened to frustrate you, perhaps because you might get dirty pants or furniture, hardly an injustice.
Hmm, I donāt remember that.I donāt think it is a sin to get angry. I think Jesus said somewhere in the bible that it is ok to be angry so long that anger doesnāt make you fall into sin, and also that our anger shall last only up to before sunset.
If youāre an evironmentalist it might be.i think getting angry at an animal is different from rebuking humans. it is same as getting angry at things, situations, events etc. animals are the part of the creation, not humans. you donāt commit a sin when you cut a tree. do you?
I think it has something to do with psychology. The REM and brain chemistry and what have you. I dont know, Google it. hahaHmm, I donāt remember that.
Although, if it is in the Bible, I wonder if this is where the ādonāt go to bed madā came from.
Actually the scenario I was thinking of was, when youāre walking to Church, and then someoneās unleashed dog comes bounding up and jumps on you to try to have sex with you - I find that very annoying.I would say that anger more often results from frustration, not āinjusticeā. AgreedDolphins are things, not persons. Babies a persons, not things. The treatment of a thing cannot be prepared that to a person.
Agreed, I will go one further, its not so much a cuteness question as it is a matter of size.Bigger the animal, the more of the fuss (whales, elephants, Rhinos)That being said, why is extermination of cute animals bad, but āuglyā ones good? No animal should be āexterminated with extreme prejudice.ā AL have a role in Godās creation, even the annoying or ugly ones.
Great white sharks are endangered as well. Where do I sign up for the āSave the Sharksā campaign?Agreed

Always found it interesting that these two views could exist in the same society:
Side note
- Its ok to call the exterminator since insects interfere with your home.
- Its ok to not buy tuna from a company that happens to snag a dolphin in their fishing nets from time to time, the fishermanās livelihood be darned.
What about ticks on a dog? Should we attempt to save the ticks?
What about people who do not differentiate between animals? The way I see it, its ok and only ok to kill an animal if it will negatively affect your life in some way, however I always do this with a heavy heart. When I have to kill cockroaches or get rid of my dogsā ticks, I say a prayer to God.Agreed

There are such campaigns. Also campaigns to save Tasmanian devils and other predators which do not fall within the usual range of ācutenessā. One of the great things about being human is the ability to use our intelligence and reason to look beyond our ourselves and our own immediate desires and needs for survival.Great white sharks are endangered as well. I have to realize that animals are things, and killing an animal does not carry the sme moral weight as killing a person. We are not free to just ādo as we pleaseā with animals, but there is no reason to mourn any animal. What about people who do not differentiate between animals? Laugh at me or call me a bleeding heart liberal if you want, I know im at peace with myself.![]()
What reason is there to mourn a person then? What I mean to say is, we are not to blame for our natural feelings. It is sad if someone is not close enough to say, a grandparent that they will not mourn them when they die, however such a thing could be simply a result of circumstances and so it would not be a sin for the person to not mourn. As long as they are respectful etc.I have to realize that animals are things, and killing an animal does not carry the sme moral weight as killing a person. Well yes. One does not have to even like dolphins to know that, by being a non-human animal, it lacks free will and thus is largely an innocent creature. No less innocent than what? A baby?

People often do not understand why other people mourn for the pets. The only thing I can say is that not understanding something does not make it wrong. Unlike things like homosexuality, I think this is one of the areas where you just have to say, to each their own. Loving animals is not a sin, and neither is disliking them in your thoughts.
Getting angry at an animal is irrational but not a sin. However it should be kept in check so as to prevent anything being done physically to the animal.
I read that the first time you posted it, thanks. An animal is a thing, not a person.
Really? Im just a THING?An animal is a thing, not a person.
You seem to think animals have the same dignity as persons, which they do not.I read that the first time you posted it, thanks.
An accepted opinion but still not sure how it is relevant?
Very cute, but still not a person, and therefore a thing.Really? Im just a THING?![]()
