he does. You need to read it. I am not going to point it out for you. sorry, I haven’t attack Francis, I disagree with him on almost every things he says. But that isnt attacking him. just because you think it is doesnt make it so.

The faith is splitting and sticking your head in the sand isnt going to stop it. This synod is an example of the splitting. 10 years from now there will be two different catholic faiths that will have split from this one.

Maybe you find it easy to put yourself in a position of judgement over the ordained shepherds of our Church. I find it extremely difficult to muster enough arrogance to do that.

Oh, I see. Your claim is then that Trump and company are not demonizing Democrats. Is that it? Shall I trot out the many many quotes from Trump that show just that? Or the many many postings in this forum inspired by Trump? Or even your own quotes where you described Democrats as the party of Death and of Evil? I won’t ask you anymore what purpose is served by doing that, but I will take my turn to offer what I think is their purpose. It is not for the purpose of changing any Democratic minds, or winning any Democrats over to their view. It is for the sole purpose of forming team solidarity and generating a sense of self-righteousness and belonging in the team at the expense of considering those from the “other team” as having any moral worth. And don’t think this is a slight against only Republicans. I have heard the same sort of thing going on in the Democratic silos where Republicans are demonized. You probably don’t see as much of it as I do because our media has become so customized with artificial intelligence that on Facebook, for instance, people on the left only see incendiary posts that demonize the right and I assume Facebook only feeds people on the right incendiary posts that demonize the left. I say “I assume” because most of my Facebook friends associate with the left, and so I only see postings meant to excite and engage people on the left. That is why I never share such postings, as I do not want to be complicit in Facebook making money off of people’s worst tendencies.

Anyway, I had to answer your condescending “I see you have too little experience…” comment with one of the same sort to illustrate what it feels like to have a remark like that directed at you. I never would have made a remark like that unprovoked.

In places where the mafia is a significant force, all kinds of people know who they are and no few know some of them personally. By and large, you’re not in danger unless you either cross them or actually join in their enterprise and do something that causes enemies among them. That’s in St. Louis anyway. Might be different elsewhere.
 
Well, you didn’t explain how the “when did you stop beating your wife” analogy applies, so I just took my best guess at what you meant. But if you didn’t mean to deny that Trump and his supporters are demonizing Democrats, then my question still stands. For what purpose are they doing that? I don’t like to assume other people’s purposes, so I offered what I thought the purpose was only reluctantly. But if you don’t have a better answer, it looks like the one I gave is the most reasonable one.

what the poster calls nonsense is what the church requires her followers to do.
