Is it a sin or mortal sin if someone gets you upset or mad, and you have some bad thoughts about them out of anger?
Yes. Don’t let your mind travel there. Is it a sin or mortal sin if someone gets you upset or mad, and you have some bad thoughts about them out of anger?
Yes, and I hate holding grudges. I try to never hold grudges towards anyone, and i usually get over something in a day at the most. But, the moment i get upset, i do hold a grudge and i tend to be quiet or not talk to whoever bothered me. And, sometimes i do have bad thoughts about them when i get upset. i was just wondering if that would be a mortal sin. I guess I could confess this either way.Sometimes it is hard to control anger but you need to try…if you have bad thoughts about a person that caused your anger, then it is like holding a grudge…remember, you are supposed to love your neighbor and practice forgiveness![]()

It is not an easy question I think…through your bad feelings you actually do not intend to sin (it comes automatically and you do work it out as soon as possible) however through those bad feelings you hurt God…does it make it a venial sin?Yes, and I hate holding grudges. This is a 2 part question. #1. No it is not a sin to get upset or mad. Anger is an emotion taht we all feel at times. Is it a sin or mortal sin if someone gets you upset or mad, and you have some bad thoughts about them out of anger?
well how can we distinguish between WILLING something rather than emotions or thoughts. ? I would say i don’t ever hold on to anger for a long time or hold a grudge, and i always forgive. i pray sometimes for them, but it’s not like this happens all the time where someone upsets me and i have bad thoughts. i might call them names in my head, etc.Anger is an natural, emotional response. It’s what you do with that anger that counts, and is factored into whether you are sinning or not. Some questions to ask yourself:
Are you willfully holding onto the anger for a long time?
Are you praying for the person who upset you?
Are you willfully holding a grudge against that person?
Are you willfully refusing to forgive the person who hurt you?
Emotions deceive us. That is why we have to WILL things in order for them to be a sin.
Hey! I just said that! Quit stealing my lines! My confessor said it’s ok to get mad (human nature). It’s what you do with your anger that decides whether or not it’s sinful.
Yeah, what he said.Anger is healthy-it’s just an emotion. It’s how you use it that can be sinful.
You’re gonna make me mad!Hey! I just said that! Quit stealing my lines!![]()
Imitation IS the highest form of flattery!Yeah, what he said.![]()
