Dear Brothers and Sisters,

St. Louis de Montfort in Chapter 7 of his treatise on “True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin” shares his “road-map” with us for our journey in paragraphs 227 - 231.

Today I’m highlighting words from these paragraphs to give a brief outline of how we can begin tomorrow and make our way toward Total Consecration to Jeus through Mary on the Feast of the Annunciation/Incarnation, Mar. 25:
  1. Those who desire to take up this special devotion… should spend at least twelve days in emptying themselves of the spirit of the world, which is opposed to the spirit of Jesus, …They should then spend three weeks imbuing themselves with the spirit of Jesus through the most Blessed Virgin. Here is a programme they might follow:
  2. During the first week they should offer up all their prayers and acts of devotion to acquire knowledge of themselves and sorrow for their sins….
  3. Each day of the second week they should endeavour in all their prayers and works to acquire an understanding of the Blessed Virgin and ask the Holy Spirit for this grace…
  4. During the third week they should seek to understand Jesus Christ better…
  5. At the end of these three weeks they should go to confession and Holy Communion with the intention of consecrating themselves to Jesus through Mary as slaves of love…
Today is the Memorial of Saint Jacinta of Fatima – the youngest of the three shepherd children to whom Mary appeared. Let us pray to become as little children today that we may make this journey to Jesus through Mary and finish well.

Holy Spirit fill us with Your Love to Glorify God, through Mary our humble Mother.

Beginning tomorrow? Or today? To be absolutely, 100% crystal clear.

Thanks Christian-ity, for your “heart” which lets us know you read the original post this morning and you may possibly be ready to make this journey with us. I know of someone already who wrote to tell me she was coming on the journey with me and so we shall see how many more will come with us. 🙂

Ah, so you are planning to join us on the journey – beginning tomorrow on Feb. 21! Great news - so now we are 3 - a wonderful number to begin getting ready…

May the Lord bless each one in a special way for His Glory and may we become more and more like Mary our Mother – His Blessing from Jesus to the whole world!!!

Dear Christian-ity and all who may have read this thread

My apologies – I should have checked St. Jacinta’s “status” before calling her merely “Blessed Jacinta”. She and her brother Francisco were officially declared Saints in 2017 by Pope Francis:
Fatima, Portugal, May 13, 2017 - Pope Francis on Saturday officially declared Francisco and Jacinta Marto saints of the Catholic Church in front of hundreds of thousands of pilgrims at Fatima, Portugal – teaching us that even young children can become saints. For more, see HERE
I will edit Jacinta’s “credentials” in the OP now!

Dear patricius and asone,

Thank you both for your “hearts” as well. I hope you may also be joining us on the journey and if you didn’t already read my apology to Christianity and those who may have read my post before I edited it, our dear little Jacina of Fatima is officially recognized by the Catholic Church as Saint Jacinat along with her brother Franicisco Marto 🙂

PS I’m a “slow learner” I seem to forget often that I need to check things before I post them – especially if I have any doubts. I did wonder and only checked AFTER I posted today. Never too old to learn. Thank you, Lord, for Your Infinite Patience with me!!!

Glad to see this reminder. I’d been thinking of renewing my consecration, and happened to see your post this morning on when to start.

God bless you and the great work you do, @MariaChristi

Yup. I’ll be joining you, dear sister. I think that Lent is a good time to renew one’s consecration, and to finish it on the Feast of the Annunciation is perfect.

Dear Fr. ACEGC ( aka edword-george1),

Wonderful! I’m a member of the Legion of Mary and the only priest who has accepted our invitation to become an Auxiliary member is a priest from Africa who was temporarily in our parish. I keep in touch with him, calling him our special “Mary-priest” . He made his commitment to Mary’s Legion as a member on the Feast of the Beloved Disciple John.

Now I am encouraged by the first priest to enter this thread and one who has consecrated himself to Jesus through Mary. Thank you so very much! My husband and I pray for the Church (clergy and laity) every day, in our Liturgy of the Hours morning prayer and our Rosary at night. I am so grateful to you for taking time to send this reply. Our Legion of Mary meets today and I will let them know I heard from another priest who loves our Mother and is renewing his Consecration. 🙂

We had a Legion of Mary Congess some 2 or 3 yrs ago and the Deacon who gave the keynote address said that he thought the Legion of Mary truly “lived” De Montfort’s Total Consecration. One of my favorite quotes from Pope St. John XXIII is this:
“The Legion of Mary presents the true face of the Catholic Church”
It is really no great work that I do, but truly it is all Mary’s work for the Lord and we Legionaries only help her, remembering her words to the servants at Cana: “Do whatever He tells you!” Thanks again, so very much! May the Lord continue the work He has begun in all His Holy Church! Please let us pray for one another and for all those in most need of God’s Mercy.

Thanks so much, patricius, for your reply – our numbers are growing!!! Not that numbers are so important but they can serve as a sign of God’s working in the hearts of our brothers and sisters.

It is more important that we listen to the wisdom God gave to St. Louis de Montfort in writing his treatise on True Devotion, and asking the Holy Spirit to increase in us His gifts! Hearing the Truth may we live the Truth we hear from God!

May our little St. Jacinta inspire us also with her love for the Pope. Our Pope Francis needs our prayers as do all priests who are called in their vocation to be shepherds. Jacinta was little but how powerful she became by the power of God’s Grace and her cooperation with grace!

Please let us continue to pray for one another, for all who will be making this journey with us and for all those in need of God’s Mercy.

Dear Stephie,

Thanks for your “heart” which lets us know you appreciated St. Louis de Montfort’s “road-map” for our journey. Please let us pray for one another, for the Church and for all those in most need of God’s Mercy.

Dear Catholic03,

Thanks for your “heart!” Hopefully you will begin the journey with us today (it is now early morning on Feb. 21). I’m about to begin the first post as we “set out for the deep” by God’s Grace!

Dear Average_Joe17 and KBS,

Thanks for your “hearts”, which let us know you appreciated the words of St. Louis de Montfort. I hope you’ll continue to follow the threads each day. Today (Feb. 22) I posted Day 2 and yesterday I posted Day 1 of the journey toward Total Consecration. We begin with 12 days of “emptying ourselves of the spirit of the world which is opposed to the Spirit of Christ”.

Please feel free to ask questions in any of the threads or share your comments on the topic.
