I am sure you have seen the large number of shows on TV that’s purpose is to locate and prove the existence of ghosts. Is watching these shows against the Catholic faith?
It’s not really a sin but why watch it? It does no good to our soul and really not a good way to spend your time. I would perfer to read scripture with my free time.I am sure you have seen the large number of shows on TV that’s purpose is to locate and prove the existence of ghosts. I think these shows are entertaining, kind of like ghost stories around a campfire. But if you watch them in belief, that’s a different story.I am sure you have seen the large number of shows on TV that’s purpose is to locate and prove the existence of ghosts. The legitimacy may be questioned, but the entertainment value there…We know that’s legit.
I think these shows are good as long as they are doing it for scientific reasons—and good too because it proves the existence of the soul and the After Life.I am sure you have seen the large number of shows on TV that’s purpose is to locate and prove the existence of ghosts. If all they did was set up their cameras and recording equipment, I would say it was ok to watch. However, most of them try to communicate with the spirits in some way, either via a psychic, a ouija board, or just calling them out and challenging them to appear. This, imo, falls into the category of attempting to call up the spirits of the dead and is expressly forbidden for Catholics.

I watched one once where they set up cameras and all that and one of the “hunters” tried calling one of the ghosts out. As soon as he did there was a loud bang and I think he messed himself, I couldn’t stop laughing. I don’t think those shows are bad to watch, but like everyone else says, it’s all in how you look at it.

I happened to watch this show once to see what all the hype was about, and if it is possible to lose intelligence after watching a TV show, this one definitely would accomplish that. It’s a shame MTV has nothing to do with M anymore.Probably not.
