I would guess buying incense sticks of “Dragon’s Blood” and “White Sage” - especially “Dragon’s Blood” as it will get rid of any negative energies and spirits within the room you burn it. I suggest however, if you son still sees them, then the spirits are nothing to be afraid of…it is the negative spirits you need to be thoughtful off. But still start burning a stick of “Dragon’s Blood” just before you son goes to bed…to keep any negatives away.

Any keep up you prayers to Michael, and maybe see if you son could seek protection from his Guardian Angel 🙂

Hope that helps.
Ashurie:

I see you are in RCIA. I don’t know who is teaching you but you need some help. What does your priest have to say about these practices? This is about as far from Catholicism, or Christianity in general, as I have heard in a long time.

Angels Eyes:

If there are any negative spirits lurking around (as they seem to be doing here) the house should be blessed by a priest for this specific purpose and I would agree with the others here who have recommended asking for the intercession of Saint Michael.

Also, you don’t have to have your son only, ask for protection, but you can ask protection for your son from his Guardian Angel as well. Padre Pio use to send his Guardian Angel to do all sorts of tasks for him. He said “they love to fly” and can’t wait to receive a request to help. Try hanging a blessed crucifix in your son’s room as well. The image of the crucified Christ is very powerful if anything evil is truly lurking.

Assuming that ghosts can be detected, what makes you think that the science of today has advanced to the point of being able to detect them?
If they can’t be detected in any way, then we have no good grounds for saying that we think they exist.

Let’s say that I tell you that I have a pet dragon, but it’s intangible, incorporeal, invisible, and totally undetectable by any means. On what grounds can we say that my pet dragon “exists”? Isn’t it indistinguishable from not existing at all?

Angels Eyes:
I think there are people out there that have the gift of seeing or hearing ghosts. I believe most of us, don’t have the gift, this would be people like you and I Wish I had it but I don’t…although, for now at least, my son might.
Or, alternatively, your son might be like most kids and have a very overactive imagination and/or be scared of the dark and the shapes his little imagination makes out of the shadows.

I’m not trying to “troll” or anything, and you can ignore me if you like, but if you’re going to talk about ghost stories in public, someone should be the voice of reason. I frankly think it’s better to model rational behavior for children and show them that there’s nothing to be afraid of in the dark. Catering to the fearful aspects of their fantasy lives cannot be good for them in the long run.

That’s my two cents. Ignore it if you like.

Thank you SteveVH. 🙂 I very much appreciate your advice. I didn’t think to ask my son’s Guardian Angel myself, that is a good idea. I have heard from people that our Angels do love to help, and our tend to wait until we ask. There are some things they cannot do to actually help us, we must ask, human ‘free will’ and all of that. This sounds fair, I think. 🤷

My son does have a small crucifix hanging in his room, but it is not blessed, I might get the Priest to do this when he is doing the house blessing on Wednesday. 🙂

Angel Eyes,

That is so good your priest is coming! Keep you in prayer…

The dragon’s blood known to the ancient Romans was mostly collected from D. cinnabari, and is mentioned in the 1st century Periplus (30: 10. 17) as one of the products of Socotra. Socotra had been an important trading centre since at least the time of the Ptolemies. Dragon’s blood was used as a dye and medicine (respiratory & gastrointestinal problems) in the Mediterranean basin, and was held by early Greeks, Romans, and Arabs to have medicinal properties. Dioscorides and other early Greek writers described its medicinal uses.[2]

Locals of Moomy city on Socotra island use the Dracaena resin as a sort of cure-all, using it for such things as general wound healing, a coagulant (though this is ill-advised with commercial products, as the Daemonorops species acts as an anti-coagulant and it is usually unknown what species the dragon’s blood came from),[citation needed] curing diarrhea, lowering fevers, dysentery diseases, taken internally for ulcers in the mouth, throat, intestines and stomach, as well as an antiviral for respiratory viruses, stomach viruses and for such skin disorders as eczema. It was also used in medieval ritual magic and alchemy. Not native to North America, some of the plants have been brought over in recent years and have become naturalised[citation needed].

Dragon’s blood of both Dracaena draco (commonly referred to as the Draconis Palm) and Dracaena cinnabari were used as a source of varnish for 18th century Italian violinmakers. There was also an 18th century recipe for toothpaste that contained dragon’s blood. In modern times it is still used as a varnish for violins, in photoengraving, as an incense resin, and as a body oil.

Dragon’s blood from both Daemonorops were used for ceremonies in India. Sometimes Dracaena resin, but more often Daemonorops resin, was used in China as red varnish for wooden furniture. It was also used to colour the surface of writing paper for banners and posters, used especially for weddings and for Chinese New Year.

In American Hoodoo, African-American folk magic, and New Orleans voodoo, it is used in mojo hands for money-drawing or love-drawing, and is used as incense to cleanse a space of negative entities or influences. It is also added to red ink to make “Dragon’s Blood Ink”, which is used to inscribe magical seals and talismans.

In folk medicine, dragon’s blood is used externally as a wash to promote healing of wounds and to stop bleeding. It is used internally for chest pains, post-partum bleeding, internal traumas and menstrual irregularities.[citation needed]

In neopagan Witchcraft, it is used to increase the potency of spells for protection, love, banishing and sexuality. In New Age shamanism it is used in ceremonies in a similar way as the neopagans use it.[citation needed]

Dragon’s blood incense is also sold as “red rock opium” to unsuspecting would-be drug buyers. It actually contains no opiates, and has only slight psychoactive effects, if any

When my sister was tiny (before I was born) told our mother that there were two children at the end of the bed. My mother asked her to draw them and she drew two angels. This all being before we were catholics but christians.

She told her that it was her guardian angel, she accepted this and after a little while she never saw them again.

When she was older she asked our mother why there were two if we all have one guardian angel, my mother told her that she was pregnant with twins and one had died before my sister was born.

At that age, early seventies, we had no television. Nowhere that she could have seen a picture of an angel.

Don’t use the jos sticks or anything.
Speak to your priest about it.

Now I know more about Dragon’s Blood then I had ever hoped to know. What does this have to do with her problem? The use of these materials for this purpose would be prohibited by our Church which was my point.

But thanks for the info.

this is Awesome:thumbsup:👍

Burning of incense is a symbol of our prayers rising to heaven. It’s only one of the many smells and bells that we use in the Church to simply enhance our worship experience. The burning of the incense has nothing to do with ridding of negative spirits or whatever … And the scents used in the Church were those that were brought to Our Lord as gifts from the Kings.

Your incense burning is way off and almost wiccan in nature.

To OP:

**You may just want to see if a Priest can bless your home and go from there. If you son continues to see ghosts, go back to the Priest.**The main concern, is this a demon?
I agree. Get your home blessed right away. I think your local priest, if you tell him your situation, should be able to come see your house immediately.

Also, get the Miraculous Medal and have it blessed after daily mass. Have one for each member of your family.

Hi, Angel Eyes…I only got a chance to read the other posts here…good you are having your house blessed. And do get the Miraculous Medal.

Suggested reading…“The Rite” by Matt Baglio. You will gain a better perspective of the other dark side…and they do exist. I learned a lot from it.

I will PM you with regarding somethings I learned from the book.

Just in time for Halloween, eh?

Look, I hate to break up the make-believe party, but there’s no such thing as ghosts. They are – at best – figments of a very overactive imagination or dreams that are misremembered as waking experience.

If there actually were such things as ghosts, then we would be able to detect them in some way other than getting a spooky feeling or hearing noises that sound suspiciously like the house settling.

I mean, if it makes you feel all warm and cozy to have a magic man ghostbust your house, then have at it – but you have to admit that this is a silly kind of thing for adults in the 21st century to do.
I beg to disagree. I suggest you read this book and tell what you think. The Rite by matt baglio.

To everyone on the thread. 🙂

The house blessing was done today at 11.30am by my Priest. 😃

The house does seem to have a sense of peace to it, which is just lovely I have to admit, hope it’s not all just in my mind

The Priest had a chat with me first, and said that he does not do many house blessings and I think he is really not a believer in ghosts etc as he said, as my son is quite young, his little mind can become confused with the things he sees, hears or watches on TV during the day. He said to look out for these things.

I have to admit, I felt a little silly like I was wasting his time, but when I said the ‘Lord hear our prayer’ as the response, it felt very good, like God really was listening…of course he was listening.🙂

Thank you all, for your concern and wonderful advice. I have certainly learnt a lot through all of this.

May God shine his loving light on you all,
Angels Eyes.

Pray, then pray some more. Also, get some Holy Water from the local Father and bless your home. Bless all the corners of your home. And if you need to, have your son (and you) say these words when he (or you too) see them “The Blood of Christ”. It has always worked for me in my “Dark Times”. The devil is trying to work my sons right now because I came back to the Church and the Fallen does not like it. Have faith in the Lord and everything will work out. God Bless you & your family.

May God bless you and your home every day!
You are in my thoughts and prayers!
Peace!

Thank you ‘The One Trinity’, I have been praying a lot, but could always do more. I do have holy water and I have sprinkled it around the house before today, and plus the Priest blessing the house today, I am hoping all will be well. It does ‘feel’ quite lovely in the house now, very peaceful somehow. 😉

I will pray for you and your sons. I hope you all have peace again soon.
God Bless you all.
Angels Eyes.

At times like this, we all need to pray for everyone that is troubled. And as for the guy in this thread saying ghosts are not real, trying seeing demons buddy. I seen so much in my life its a wonder i didnt kill myself from all the horrible things that happened to me. But this isnt about me. This is about a woman and her son having to deal with something that is very real. So may the Lord help her and her son in their time of need and that these things go away and never return.

I am just about to start RCIA, and I am not here to be judged by you or anyone on these forums, thank you. That was my past, and present…it gives me comfort and I happen to enjoy the smell of incense…and yes, I have a crucifix, and 3 Angelic statues, one of St Raphael and another of St. Michael. I also wear a necklace of the Mother around my neck all the time.

Being attacked like this makes me feel that all Catholics are quick to judge someone like myself…and in fact its making me double think joining. However, I am reminded by my statue of St Raphael and my picture of St. Mary of the Cross, that not all Catholics are quick to judge, and many who I have spoken to about my past are actually understanding, and open, so heck are interested. Also that I am joining for myself, to gain my own spirituality and be with God. I am also reminded . As they see that my past lead to where I am now, becoming a good Catholic, to fulfill my faith and love for God, Jesus and Mother.

I come on here to learn, interact and in the “NON-CATHOLIC RELIGIONS” section put in my understandings and ideas, without trying to put people down or being rude. So please get to know me, before judging me and or saying I need “help”.

May peace be with you,
Ashurie
