If the war is still going on then, no Republican can win anyway. I suspect Republicans and orthodox will spend a few years in the wilderness starting 2008.

IMHO, I think you are wrong. The war will still be going on because it will take many years to settle down. However I think our presence will be less, and the Iraqis themselves will be doing more of the fighting.

I think that if Hillary is the one running, then the Republicans have a very good chance of winning. She has as many enemies as friends. She is also involved in many scandals. A new one is in the news right now about some fund raiser that didn’t report the profits correctly. She hid some income apparently/allegedly.
