Just a reminder that the Girls Scouts are starting to sell their cookies and they give support to Planned Parenthood. They might be yummy but its at the expense of a dead baby.
You are very right. Here is a link I found with some articles regarding this.Just a reminder that the Girls Scouts are starting to sell their cookies and they give support to Planned Parenthood. They might be yummy but its at the expense of a dead baby.
The grocery store sells grasshopper cookies that are almost as good and they are sold year round! No reason to panicSome of the arguments in those cited articles are pretty disturbing…I don’t know enough to be fair about it, but I will say that the cookies are awesome. I also think that it could very well be a situation where bad influences get through the cracks…such a large organization can’t keep track of everyone.
On the other hand, they GSUSA picked the Mayor of Houston as the keynote speaker for the past year’s National Convention. No, this is not true. The Girls Scouts do not support Planned Parenthood. The national organization takes no money from Planned Parenthood and sponsors nothing with PP; occasionally a local council gets a donation from Planned Parenthood, but there are no “pro-choice” rallies for the Girl Scouts…
Parents would be wise to spend some serious time browsing the WAGGGS (www.wagggsworld.org) and GSUSA websites, following the links they find there, and examining for themselves how these organizations deal with sexuality, “choice” and reproductive issues. It may be a sobering experience.
As one youth minister recently wrote:
“It’s hard to imagine that a girl who remains involved with Girl Scouts into young adulthood won’t eventually learn of the connections her organization has with ‘pro-choice’, pro-contraception and ‘reproductive freedom’ groups.
archden.org/index.cfm/ID/6190Having been influenced by GSUSA, she’ll be more receptive to this agenda. And if she was introduced to GSUSA through her parents and her local parish, then that will inevitably create contradictions between her Catholic faith and her Scouting experience.”
In a way you’re right. But you’re totally wrong. No, this is not true. The Girls Scouts do not support Planned Parenthood. The national organization takes no money from Planned Parenthood and sponsors nothing with PP; occasionally a local council gets a donation from Planned Parenthood, but there are no “pro-choice” rallies for the Girl Scouts.
There’s just a bunch of gullible people running around repeating calumnies that they’ve heard about the Girl Scouts, for no discernible reason other than a bizarre hatred of girls learning to work together in a volunteer service organization.
The articles are all either gross misrepresentations or self-serving ads for other organizations (with an occasional true story of some local troop leader screwing up and getting in trouble for it).
Go ahead, eat the cookies! You aren’t killing a baby by doing it.
In light of their clear denial of this and similar allegations, I’m going to have ask you to prove it.In a way you’re right. But you’re totally wrong.
Girl Scouts of America doesn’t give money to Planned Parenthood, but they do give it to Girl Scouts International. Girl Scouts International then gives it to Planned Parenthood.
Please actually research those links. They’re all false, misleading, or downright weirdly irrelevant. The link of Girl Scouts and Planned Parenthood is quite apparent methinks.

Not buying cookies from Girl Scouts ever again until good prevails once more regards - Nimzovik.
Did you read my second post? I spoke with the regional coordinator. She explained it all quite nicely. A portion of every due paid to Girl Scouts goes to a second corporation. The second corporation does give money to planned parenthood. In light of their clear denial of this and similar allegations, I’m going to have ask you to prove it.
And please don’t just say “I read it on the web somewhere.” There are plenty of people out there slandering the Girl Scouts; surely someone, somewhere has actually presented the proof, yes?
How so,Please actually research those links. They’re all false, misleading, or downright weirdly irrelevant.
Blah! Those cookies taste like cardboard to me. Then again, I guess I am a bit of a snob regarding sweets since I am a cake/cookie designer. Some of the arguments in those cited articles are pretty disturbing…I don’t know enough to be fair about it, but I will say that the cookies are awesome. I don’t care for the cookies either. We literally recieved cases of the things when I was in Iraq this last time. And they wonder why the military is having a weight crisis!Blah! Those cookies taste like cardboard to me. Then again, I guess I am a bit of a snob regarding sweets since I am a cake/cookie designer.
At any rate, my 6 yo just joined GS, I wish I would have know about their ties beforehand. I would take her out but she really, really enjoys it, ugh.
6 year olds really enjoy many things, but, if the are not helping your child get to heaven - better not spend your time and money there.Blah! Those cookies taste like cardboard to me. Then again, I guess I am a bit of a snob regarding sweets since I am a cake/cookie designer.
