Give me one good reason not to hate this world

I was on the website FailBlog a few minutes ago, and it just HAD to have a blasphemous billboard of Jesus and Mary in bed together, with a caption that said “Joseph wasn’t enough”

That’s it. This world is dead to me. For all I care, it can go to hell, because obviously that’s what it wants. How can God forgive such an atrocity? Implying that Jesus and Mary had an incestual relationship? May God forgive whoever did that, BECAUSE I WON’T!

No, I am not kidding. I can’t even leave CAF without finding something sacreligious.This is ridiculous. Nothing is funny to the world unless it involves sex or blasphemy, or both. I know God forgives all sins, but I am not God.

It’s not rocket science-ignore the things you don’t like/find offensive. Embrace the beauty in the world. It’s not too hard to do.

One answer, Jesus loved the world and all of us enough to die for it, to save it, to call us to live with Him.

Things seem pretty bad to me, too, depending on where I look – and I’m sure things looked pretty bad to Jesus, too. The wrappings of the world have changed since Jesus’ time, but the human condition has not – and it was that for which Jesus filled the world with His presence, His love.

I’ve always (seriously, always) found it uplifting to do something kind, say something kind, put myself out a little bit for someone else. The more you do for others, in His Name, the more love you yourself will see in the world. There’s a lot that needs doing…maybe some of that good has your name on it.

In practical terms - spend less time on the internet and with TV – popular culture sucketh, and it sucketh now more than ever.

It’s love that makes the world “good” and there’s love all around if you look for it, and if you’re willing to give love back.

Well, now that I’ve calmed down, I guess I can see good in the world. Like I said, it was just a flash of anger. I looked at a few of rascalking’s pictures, and they lightened things up (cute dogs!)

Just to correct you, that was Joseph and Mary, not Jesus and Mary. Secondly, then how can you be Christian? The Lord tells us to forgive. Remember, to Err is Human, but to Forgive is Divine. That saying is there for a reason.

You should not hate this world because our Loving God made it, and sent his only son to die for it. Because the beauty and wonder of nature and of the cultural developments of our people (humanity) is just amazing.

There are many things in this world that are wrong, yes, agreed. But there is good in our world, and hate is not a Christian value. Remember, whoever hates his brother is a murderer.

Truely, we are not to hold hate in our heart, but Love and Kindness, Forgiveness and Patience. Christ Jesus held these virtues, and are we not to be like him? Let go of this ungodly hatred, for it will kill a man, and welcome our Lord, who is Love, into your heart and express it in all ways.

Go for a walk in the woods. Or wherever there ain’t no people or buildings. Breathe. Look around. Feel the sun on you. Listen. After awhile you’ll hear insects, animals, water. Breathe. Walk some more. It’s beautiful. The Navajo had this saying “walk in beauty.” And we’re surrounded by it. Ok?

Look, I know. My mood changes at the drop of a hat, and I’ve come to my senses now. I was at Mass and adoration this morning and started my day on a big “Jesus buzz” , if you will. It’s not Christian, let alone mature, to get mad like I did.

Scripture says “Whoever hates his brother without cause is the same as a murderer”. Jesus said some interesting things about the world. He said that the person that hates his life will gain it and the one that loves his life will lose it. We as Christians have to die to ourselves daily and live as new creatures in Christ. Jesus said that if we love our families more than Him then we are not worthy of Him. Pretty strong words!

When you see, hear or experience something blasphemous, how about praying for the people involved? Pray also for patience and love toward these folks (God loves them, too),
and for more stable moods, so that you can be a great witness to them.

I can relate. This world is filled with filth. And I don’t know about you, but I have a bad temper so it just makes it worse because instead of shrugging it off, I get angry/disgusted. I am working on it though…
