I am glad you got over your anger and regained your perspective. Because otherwise, you DID ask for one good reason not to hate this world, and I have about 1 million reasons… it would have gotten tedious for you.

Christ is the Prince of life Jack, the Lord of worlds. He is able to take it. His Mother was and is chosen by God himself. She is protected by unimagined and unimaginable power and love. She is beyond hurt in a way and I suppose she feels the hurt you feel on her behalf. That blasphemy can’t even touch her, can’t even appraoch her but it gave you the chance to feel shock on her behalf and thus gain the opportunity to show The Madonna herself that you love her.

Well, now that I’ve calmed down, I guess I can see good in the world. Like I said, it was just a flash of anger. I looked at a few of rascalking’s pictures, and they lightened things up (cute dogs!)
Righteous indignation has its place.
It’s easy to get overwhelmed, but*** that’s exactly how Satan can get to you.*** He know you better than you know you, and knows what buttons he can push in society that will trigger that sort of reaction in you toward the world.
I’ve tried a couple of things over the years that I’ve found helpful when I get frustrated:
-I try to focus on the sin and not the sinner, even if it’s a very large group of sinners i.e. America
-I’ve tried to focus on the sinner, not to vent my frustration and rage, but to pray for them, as they obviously need it (and all the while not to feel superior in any…but for the Grace of God go I
-I try to pray for guidance as to what I can, in my own miniscule way, be guided by the Almighty to help the problem of evil.
-and I’ve tried distractions of all sorts; playing with my dog, who knows not a whit about my problems and is always there with a wagging tail helps.
When I was younger, I’d go out running and run until I was too tired to care about much else but dragging my sorry butt back home, grabbing a shower and hitting the sheets.
Another guaranteed distraction is a cold shower.
Stay in as long as you can. Money back guarantee that what irritated you beforehand will no longer be in the forefront of your concerns after about 4 or 5 minutes.

I can understand this anger, it’s not the fact that one sole person or even a group did something blasphemous. It’s the fact that when you look down into comments you see 98 percent of them being either praise for the blasphemy, or straight out hatred for your religion or religion in general. It makes you sick to be human, like if all the world was Sodom and Gorromoth with no destruction coming in your lifetime.

I would not get too worked up about it though. Pray for them. Most of the world is going to hell anyway as Christ said that many would follow it(the wide route). Sometimes I wonder if they even know the severity of what they committed, as Christ thought “they know not what they do”…

That doesn’t show bad on him. It shows a righteous anger. Which is a good thing…According to scripture blasphemy deserves the death penalty. So if you applied God’s full justice against what this person did he would be stoned to death probably. I think a little anger towards this person isn’t bad compared to the full justice of committing such an act…

Think about it.
Why would an All-Powerful, Eternal, and All-Knowing god care that much about something this petty?
He’s been around forever, and he knew it was coming anyway. Moreover an omnipotent being could easily stop it if it bothered him that much anyway.
Besides, you won’t show up atheists or secular humanists like myself by killing yourself, becoming a hermit, or withdrawing from and/or leaving the world in some other fashion. Unless your famous or prominent in some other way most of us probably wouldn’t even notice, and even if we did we would just consider it proof of our own theories.
Frankly, we secular humanists kind of expect very religious people to act violently, irrationally, and stupidly. If you want to show us up (even in a small way) do something publicly that is undeniably good and beneficial as a religious person (like feeding starving children, curing a fatal disease, etc.).
That will do more to convince people of the rightness of your cause that some grand gesture of rejection towards human civilization and the earthly plane of existence.
Go ahead, do it.
I am something of a cynic, so I often enjoy being proven wrong.

Well, yes.
And according to Scripture women who are raped in town should be executed, because if they didn’t really want it they would have made enough racket to attract help.
Children can also be killed for swearing at their parents.
The Old Testament is not an ideal place to look for good morals, not by Western standards anyway. If you want to see what Old Testament morality looked like in practice, study Islamic areas where Sharia Law holds sway.

Yeah, I get pretty heated about blasphemy and willing ignorance as well. I can’t be a hypocrite because when I see people willingly say stupid things about God and refuse to learn the error of their ways, I just want to kill them. But I know that isn’t right, so I calm myself down with God’s help.

Because Jesus loves the world. Even the people in it who drew and circulate those things.
God will forgive them, and he tells us that we should too. I too get angry when i see these things, but we have to remember to pray for those who persecute us. We should feel sadness for what they are denying, not anger that they deny it.

Not in the least bit. It seems like you selectively read that verse.
The verse says “Because she cried not”. Meaning, because she didn’t resist. Not “because she didn’t stop it”. Clearly a woman can’t stop herself from being raped 90% of the time. But if she resisted or did not consent, then it’s rape, and that’s the qualification needed according to Deuteronomy.
I should’ve said “Used to wish” for the deaths of people who blaspheme God. I’m not so quick to anger now, as that’s really the opposite of what Jesus commands.

Honestly, this thread is somewhat amusing. The thread starter is extremely upset by a picture that was made with the sole purpose of upsetting Christians. The person who made the picture got his or her point across…they accomplished what they wanted to do. Don’t let these things get to you. Is it offensive? Yes. Is there anything you can do about it? No. So why even bother getting upset?
