Given the Muslim reaction to the Popes speech are you afraid for his life?

If someone from the Islamic world takes it upon themselves to attempt (or succeed) to kill the Holy Father I expect the Islamic middle eastern world will congratulate him/her for doing so, praise him for his martyrdom and riot in the streets as usual. And thereby prove the evil doings of the followers of Mohammed.

The Holy Father’s soul is not in danger. He will see paradise.

Furthermore I realize there are Muslims who do not feel the way the Islamic radicals feel. And to those folks I say, I am terribly sorry for you. Your faith is presently being hijacked by criminals.
And because you do not decry the evil they are doing, you are being lumped in with them.

Yes I do fear an attack on him personally. We all saw the validation that Islam is all about the violence today. And war threats. Don’t forget the war threats.

I haven’t noticed being ‘cowed’ myself. How would you define ‘cowed’?

And out of interest, do they feel that we are imminent threat of having Islamists take over the country? I’ve not met anyone who does yet - well, anyone who knows anything about the country. I’ve seen various US posters imply that think Western Europe is about to ‘fall to Islam’, but I don’t think they understand how we work very well (else it wouldn’t be being suggested).

One poster certainly doesn’t represent all of the U.K. here.

I believe for the physical safety of the Holy Father, that

1. He should use ONLY the bullet proof glass popemobile and no open jeeps. After all wasn’t JPII shot in a jeep?
2. There should be no trip to Turkey
3. He should be a “prisoner of the Vatican” like popes of old for a while.
4. He should not go into the crowds unless if he is in the bullet proof popemobile.
5. For Corpus Christi Sunday he should be in the protected popemobile with the Eucharist (design a nice one if they have to). In fact he should not participate in long processions for a while.

We should…

1. Pray for him
2. Be vigilant and pray for protection on ourselves
3. Offer sacrifices for the Pope and those who need conversion

Yes, I am. There are a lot of crazy people in the world. I fear that there are followers of Islam who believe we are in the middle of a Holy War and may want to harm the Holy Father. I also fear that there are others, who for political reasons, may want to stoke a Holy War by harming the Holy Father.
