If we decide to sacrafice something for lent ex pop, sweets, video games etc… Is there a break on sunday for doing this? I thought I heard of this but wanted to make sure it was the correct teaching of the Church.
I always thought it was the full 40 days, but then again, I could be wrong. I read something that like years ago when learning about Catholicism, but it could’ve been from a more traditionalist site.

If you do your math and include the Sundays of lent it actually comes to more than 40 days Sundays have always been considered mini-Easters, days to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord, even lenten Sundays.
It’s certainly permissible to take a break from your discipline on these days. I’d say, though, if you’re giving up something like smoking or cursing or any other sinful or possibly-sinful or really harmful activity you’d be wise to continue avoiding such on Sundays - and then to keep right on going after Lent too
