Remember, its too Hot I mean its too Cold. Whatever it is, we have to Do Something To Save The Planet Right Now. Then we can feel good about ourselves.

You’re actually saying we should “fix” the weather but can’t can’t say when its been “fixed”? Auto repair shops would love you as a customer.

Global Warmin’ ™ mavens never seem to be able to answer that straightforward question. You say its too warm, or its too cold, or too rainy, but you can’t say what it should be?

What is so daunting about this question, apart from the obvious that no one with an agenda to “fix” the climate has given it any thought?
I did find something that might sorta answer that question though not totally. scienceblogs.com/illconsidered/2006/02/whats-wrong-with-warm-weather.php It appears the problem isn;t so much that the temperature is changing…whether it;s getting hotter or colder but the rate at which things are changing. But no if your looking for me or any actual scientist to tell you what an exact optimum temperature would be…you likely wonlt get it.

And the sun revolves around the earth; and there are no hidden costs to burning oil; and there’s plenty of forest; and there’s plenty of clean water; and plenty of coral reefs; and lakes are not drying up; and 9 billion people will not be so bad; and there’s plenty of energy for everyone; and there’s no need to develop alternative fuel sources and we shouldn’t even worry about increasing energy efficiency.

Because the world is a trough and God has granted us unlimited access to the all you can burn buffet.

I see. Global Warmin’ ™ has devolved into generic environmentalism. How many Carbon Credits ™ need I buy to assuage my guilt?

TRVTH be told, we don’t need cheap unlimited energy of any kind. That would turn the planet into a giant heat sink. We’d be a charred wasteland in a few hundred years.

But I don’t want to sidetrack this fascinating subject. Tell me what the suitable temperature increase is, assuming we can stop the runaway Warmin’ ™.

And the sun revolves around the earth;
Glad we got that straightened out.
and there are no hidden costs to burning oil;
To the thinking man…no.

Depends on whose opinion we follow.
Yours? Hubris again.
Because the world is a trough and God has granted us unlimited access to the all you can burn buffet.
I don’t remember that in my bible.
Clearly you seem to have stumbled upon a new religion here.
Or did you mean to try to make a cheap mockery of those that do follow the Church?

I wasn’t quoting the person who wrote the blog, I referenced his citations which included quotes from a 2002 U.S. Geological Survey and a manager of wildlife resources in Canada. I neither know nor care who wrote the blog.
Wow Ender, you completely ignored the rest of my post. Here it is again;
… All that aside, **actually read **the article:
“it is just silly to predict the demise of polar bears in 25 years based on media-assisted hysteria.”
And again:
“Her outfit was one of those who had sued the feds in the first place over the polar bears, notwithstanding its location in the frozen tundra of Arizona. But no matter. For want of a few hundred polar bears, the entire U.S. economy could be vulnerable to judicial dictation.”
… yeah, that presentation is what you see in scientific articles all the time. Nothing screams scientific repute moreso than this echelon of loaded terms, obvious agenda and bias.
P.S. Funny how all scientists were being stereotyped as left-wing crazies promoting the existence of global warming for the sake of funding, yet now we’re using them as sources, as “people who would be expected to know”, to prove our point…

Are you denying the climate changes during medieval optimum, or the little ice age? or any of the other numerous examples of Climate Change ™ that had nothing to do with human activity?
No I am not…I was just pointing out according to the sources I have read grapes are grown in England right now. Now if you have contrary evidence of course feel free to post it.

Now as for current and past climate change. ipcc-wg1.ucar.edu/wg1/FAQ/wg1_faq-9.2.html the question being answered here is can the warming of the 20th century be explained by natural variablity?

And this is about if the current C02 concentrations are do to human activity or not. ipcc-wg1.ucar.edu/wg1/FAQ/wg1_faq-7.1.html

ipcc-wg1.ucar.edu/wg1/FAQ/wg1_faq-6.1.html

on climate change in the past.

And I have found more but that is enough for one post I think. 🙂

Firstly, three things have to be proved for this to rise to the concept of “social injustice”.

  1. *]Global warming is really happening.
    *]Global warming is a bad thing.
    *]Global warming is caused by human industrial activity and not part of the observed natural climate cycles.
    Prove ALL of these points, I will give this some consideration. None of these, to date, have been proved, merely asserted based on insufficient data using theories and climate models some of which have been shown to be inaccurate and followed up with wild and questionable speculation.
    1. The Polar ice caps are melting and shrinking.
    2. Extinction of animals. Pollution is bad for your health.
    3. The temperature of the sun has not increased but the temperature on earth has. I think someone else posted the proof of this.
    I seriously have a hard time figuring out why this issue is being debated.:confused:

I agree with your post, assuming there is no sarcasm. Unfortunately I have read your previous posts so I know that you are being sarcastic.

  1. Polar ice caps have always gone through cycles of melting and shrinking.
  2. Climates have always changed and they have always caused both extinctions and new species to emerge. So what? CO2 does not cause health problems - not enviromarxist leftards believe that it does.
    3.Someone else did not post proof of anything. They cited one study that looked at 30 years of data. Climate on Earth has a lot more data than that. Other studies show that other planets have warmed over the passt 30 years as well.

So you think there is nothing wrong with pollution? I believe cancer is a cause of excessive pollution.:confused:

I do not like pollution. I do not believe that CO2 is pollution. I have been exposed to large levels of CO2 for over 30 years now and I have not experienced any deleterious health effects.

Wow Ender, you completely ignored the rest of my post.
Yes, I ignored the rest of your post because it had nothing whatever to do with the point being discussed which was whether or not polar bears have been affected by global warming. Someone challenged me on that point and I provided references supporting my claim - citations to a USGS study and the comments of a Canadian manager of wildlife resources.

The comments of the blogger who posted those citations are irrelevant. If those citations are valid then they support my position and they don’t become invalid simply because the blogger who posted them is biased.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polar_bear

The polar bear (Ursus maritimus) is a bear native to the Arctic Ocean and its surrounding seas. The world’s largest predator found on land, an adult male weighs around 400–680 kg (880–1,500 lb),[3] while an adult female is about half that size. Although it is closely related to the brown bear, it has evolved to occupy a narrow ecological niche, with many body characteristics adapted for cold temperatures, for moving across snow, ice, and open water, and for hunting the seals which make up most of its diet.[4] As it can hunt consistently only from sea ice, the polar bear spends much of the year on the frozen sea, although most polar bears are born on land.

The polar bear is classified as a vulnerable species, with 5 of the 19 polar bear subpopulations in decline.[5][6] For decades, unrestricted hunting raised international concern for the future of the species; populations have rebounded after controls and quotas began to take effect. For thousands of years, the polar bear has been a key figure in the material, spiritual, and cultural life of Arctic indigenous peoples, and the hunting of polar bears remains important in their cultures.

The IUCN now lists global warming as the most significant threat to the polar bear, primarily because the melting of its sea ice habitat reduces its ability to find sufficient food. The IUCN states, “If climatic trends continue polar bears may become extirpated from most of their range within 100 years.”[1] On May 14, 2008, the United States Department of the Interior listed the polar bear as a threatened species under the Endangered Species Act.😦

Polar bears kills Eskimos. Eskimos kill polar bears. Are you siding with the polar bears? I personally think that humans can kill as many polar bears as they want to.

It says Global Warming is its biggest threat. The polar bear is expected to be extinct by 2050. There is a lot more information if you click on the link as well.

Did you read my post? Polar bears are the enemy of man. They kill people in the North. You want to spend how many trillions of dollars crippling our economy by reducing CO2 emissions in the hope that the temperature gets a little cooler, or less warm? Humans by the way tend to thrive during the periods of global warming.
