I give up, discussing this is pointless and I’ve explained it as wella s I can.
He did think it needed explanation. That’s why he chose theologians to study and explain it.I actually believe it is what it is word for word.
And needs no explanation.
If God thought it needed to be explained
He would have explained it.
Bolding your opinion does not make it true. Here is a much more accurate exegesis from the Rev. George Leo Haydock Bible Commentary (via the Church who wrote the bible, rather than the New York corporation that pillages it):**If you believe that God
became a man a son of man
then you do not believe
this scripture.
Either it is a lie
or what you believe is a lie.**
As to the Book of Judith, real bibles contain it. Check it out.Ver. 19. Changed. Hebrew, “repent.” Septuagint, “to be overawed by threats.” Origen, “to be terrified.” In the book of Judith, (viii. 15,) it is said, For God will not threaten like man, nor be inflamed to anger, like the son of man. (Calmet) — Do. Will he suffer me to curse Israel, after he has once given me a decided prohibition? (Menochius)
Of course He is. He said it a lot (“Before Abraham was, I Am”, for example), just in a very Jewish way.Jesus isn’t God.
Actually the Scripture reads:**If you believe that God
became a man a son of man
then you do not believe
this scripture.
Either it is a lie
or what you believe is a lie.**
Contrasting God’s honesty to man’s lying. Nothing whatsoever to do with whether God would become incarnate.19 God is not** as **a man, that he should lie, nor as the son of man, that he should be changed. Hath he said then, and will he not do? hath he spoken, and will he not fulfil
Jesus is not the living God
He is the Christ the Son of the living God.
Matthew 16:13-17
When Jesus came into
the coasts of Caesarea Philippi,
he asked his disciples, saying,
Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?
And they said, Some say
that thou art John the Baptist: some,
Elias; and others, Jeremias,
or one of the prophets.
He saith unto them,
But whom say ye that I am?
And Simon Peter answered and said,
Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
And Jesus answered and said unto him,
Blessed art thou,
Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood
hath not revealed it unto thee,
but my Father which is in heaven.
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, ***and the Word was God.
Scripture clearly says the Word is God, and that the Word became flesh. So yes God became man according to Scripture. And that man is not the father.14 ***And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us: and we saw his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, **full of grace and truth.
Here again you have changed the wording of the scriptures to fitScripture clearly says the Word is God, and that the Word became flesh. So yes God became man according to Scripture. And that man is not the father.
The last verses you provided kind of proved what we’ve been saying- Jesus is God. Here’s a few more verses for you:**You all give your own opinions
I give you scripture.
I find it amazing that you believe
your own opinions take presence over
the scriptures.
You all keep giving me your own opinions
and I will keep posting scriptures.**
Those are the Scriptures, word for word. Let’s discuss. Here again you have changed the wording of the scriptures to fit
into that to which you want to believe.
If you want to discuss with me any scriptures
post them word for word as it is written.
Then we can start there with it.
Here you are giving your analysis as to each verseThe last verses you provided kind of proved what we’ve been saying- Jesus is God. Here’s a few more verses for you:
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God …] And the Word became flesh and lived among us (John 1:1, 14)
The Word was God. Check. The Word became flesh and lived among us. Got it. Well, who is the gospel about? Who became flesh and lived among us? That’s obvious.
**"Your ancestor Abraham rejoiced that he would see my day; he saw it and was glad.” Then the Jews said to him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have you seen Abraham?”*Jesus said to them, “Very truly, I tell you, before Abraham was, I am.” So they picked up stones to throw at him, but Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple. **(John 8: 56-59)
As you should be aware, “I Am” is God’s name. Here, Jesus was attributing the divine name to Himself. The Jews considered this blasphemy, which is why they tried to stone Him.
**A week later his disciples were again in the house, and Thomas was with them. Although the doors were shut, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you.” Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here and see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it in my side. Do not doubt but believe.” Thomas answered him, *“My Lord and my God!” *** (John 20:26-28)
Again, obvious.
I’d say the entire point of John’s gospel is to prove Jesus’ divinity. So, what else can I say but to read it?
I have posted the verses in the exact form that they are written. Let’s discuss why the JW’S have constantly felt a need to change wording. Here again you have changed the wording of the scriptures to fit
into that to which you want to believe.
If you want to discuss with me any scriptures
post them word for word as it is written.
Then we can start there with it.
I gave you the verses. I explained them to you. I figured you’d want to discuss them anyways, so I gave brief explanations of them. Feel free to ignore them and read only the verses, just know that I’ll simply repeat my words if you ask me what I think they say. Here you are giving your analysis as to each verse.
Your analysis is meaningless to me.
Just give me any 1 or 2 verses where you
say that it is Jesus as God.
Then we will start with it.
it is not the scripture that I reject it is your changingI have posted the verses in the exact form that they are written. Let’s discuss why the JW’S have constantly felt a need to change wording.
So you are saying Jesus was God, but that when He became flesh He was no longer God? Surely not a mighty God then.it is not the scripture that I reject it is your changing
the wording of the scripture you posted that I reject.
For example you replaced the word “was” with the word “is”
in your analysis of the verse.
That is what I reject.
Your explanation is that to which has errors and flaws.I gave you the verses. I explained them to you. I figured you’d want to discuss them anyways, so I gave brief explanations of them. Feel free to ignore them and read only the verses, just know that I’ll simply repeat my words if you ask me what I think they say.
I have not said anything other than what you read I said.So you are saying Jesus was God, but that when He became flesh He was no longer God? Surely not a mighty God then.
