Umm… don’t want to scare you away but … just wait till you
convert! This fight is never over friend, join us!:knight1:

The few, the proud, the Christians!!👍
:blessyou:
This is the problem!!!
God is becoming distant AGAINST my will. Why? there are many possibilities.
  1. The Devil could be up to his old tricks.
  2. I made a wrong turn in my search, and God wants nothing to do with me and The “roman” catholic church, because the Orthodox was hard to get used to…but not impossible as I was not isolated.
  3. my experience with the Jehovahs witness, made much more cautious.
Point is the bible says NO weapon formed against you will have success. The bible also says that God won’t let you be tested beyond what you can handle, because God will make a way out…etc…etc… I could go on.

Acording to the bible, the situation I am in ( ofcourse you can’t understand everything of the internet)…anyway acording to lots of scriptures the situation Im in is virtualy impossible!!

I could quote scripture after scripture that says THIS CAN’T BE HAPPENING!!!

Im sure you don’t believe me…LOL…when I was a Jehovahs witness, if someone was telling me what Im telling you…I would not believe them, the bible says its impossible.

Excaliber,

I guess I don’t know the whole story - but what is causing all the anxiety? All you really need to do to convert is attend Mass on Sundays and enroll in RCIA this for this fall, right?

Hi Excaliber,

I wonder if this trying to get into the Church during non-service times for Adoration is stressing you out.

Really all you need to convert is start going to Mass (you can do everything but Communion) and then enroll in RCIA classes for the fall, right? Is there something keeping you from going to Mass?

i have “been there”… i don’t want to say what all i went through because most people here would not understand… only God understands… so i talk to Him about it…

anyway, just thought i would let you know some of us “out here” understand (as much as that is possible…No one has walked in your exact shoes before…)

Jesus promised that the gates of Hell would not prevail against HIs Church… He never promised it would not prevail over us as individuals… That is why it is important to be in His Church, using the “weapons” the Church provides for fighting our enemy, the devil… who is smarter than we are… has been around longer than we have… knows all the tricks in the book… (wrote the book… in fact… the book of lies, etc…).

Even so people who push you into the Church… well, its not like if you join the Church, everything is going to be smooth sailing form then on… some things may get worse… they did for me…(at times…). but it was a learning experience and learning can be very PAINFUL… 😦 🤷 But it really is true that trite old saying No pain, No gain… Learning, even if painful, is a good thing… It is what life is all about, really…

God bless…

For man nothing is possible, for God all things are possible.
Hang in there.

Are you all talk or is there something really happening?

If you could hear all that God is saying to you, you would be
overwhelmed and just go to sleep.

I think He’s saying to you: The ball is in your court:thumbsup:

I think I disagree…Individuals ARE the church. This thread originally was about…If God is concerned with individuals or christians as a whole.
Everyone said its individuals.

Individual Christians are able to speak Directly to God…am I right?
So logicaly God is interested in individual Christians if he hears and answers prayer.

Ok so back to my point.

I don’t understand denominations and schsims…technicaly a baptised Christian should be powerfull…able to imitate Christ,
So how is it Possible for a christian to honestly search for God…and end up in one of thousands of denominations?

Acording to the bible, If you ask God for something acording to his will…He WILL answer.

Then technicaly what I am experiencing is impossible!!

There are THOUSANDS of denominations that supposedly follow scripture.

There is division every where!!!

If one concludes that the Catholic church is the true church…then one must find out WHICH Catholic church is the correct one.

THIS is a big problem, The Roman catholic church is EXTREMELY difficult to judge, because Roman Catholics are soooo introverted, probably the most introverted. So I can’t say " hey these people have The Holy Spirit working in them, because they have personality traits that come from The Holy Spirit."

So I get stuck. Roman Catholics make the most sence when it comes to ATHORITY. But Roman Catholics are impossible to observe because they don’t interact at church.

That’s the key ingredient that’s missing!!! I can’t observe Roman Catholics. I can observe Orthodox Catholics, they did not just run home after worship was concluded. Is any of what Im saying make sence?

Yea something is happening!!!
Nothing.
Im stuck. reduced to reading books about the church, BECAUSE its hard to see Christ in Individual Roman Catholics…Its my understanding that lots of Roman Catholics don’t even know other Roman Catholics.

All Churches look good if you judge them by the books they write about themselves.

My brain says Roman Catholic because they write the best books.
Everything else says Orthodox because visiting them had the BIGGEST effect on me. I visited a handfull of times, but I still remember thoses visits…as a matter of fact I met more people including the priest.

This is a MAJOR problem. I was drawn to Orthodox Catholics…However…I can’t disprove Roman Catholics.

You’ve gotta go with the truth. It’s between you and God first and foremost-not you and the people. God will take care of the rest.

I admit I have not read all of the posts on this thread. So perhaps the following is already covered. I’m not sure I would be the best to express it anyway.

It seems to me that the fundamental question is whether there is a God at all. If that is answered affirmatively, then we need to consider what the nature of God is. If, as we really have to believe, God is infinite or He is not God at all, then three things following from that. First, we cannot possibly know all, or even a significant part of His thoughts, since the finite cannot contain the infinite. Second, as the infinite Being, He is necessarily perfectly capable of being conscious and caring of each and every one of us simultaneously. Third, since we cannot comprehend Him through our own powers, about the only things we can know about Him is what He reveals of Himself to us in all the ways He is believed to do so.

Now, if we quibble with any of the above, we are necessarily saying we don’t believe in God, but that we believe in some lesser being that is far above us but certainly not infinite. The Great Alien Brain of Alpha Centauri or something like that. Not being infinite, it is not God, just a mighty smart and powerful guy.

Evil in the world is a problem for us. There is much misery and want. But we have to ask ourselves how well we really understand that. By way of example, some time ago I read a book entitled “City of Joy” about the horrible living conditions of the poorest of the poor in India. The book (and the place from where its name was taken) describes conditions of life that we in the First World would consider totally unacceptable and miserable; miserable beyond the powers of most of us to even mentally invent. And yet, there was a great deal of joy in the lives of those people; seemingly more than we in the First World have, despite the material misery and deprivation. Are we as wise as we think we are about such things? Or are we, like spoiled children, declaring that our minimum conditions of life must include such and such or we will whine and snivel? I think, before we decide that God is inattentive or neglects to do this or that in our lives, we should, at minimum, read “City of Joy” and, for good measure, all three volumes of “Gulag Archipelago”; the latter being an account of the Soviet death camps and a remarkable philosophical work as well. If, in our fat, prosperous West, we have somehow not been well taught about life, we could remediate that deficit by starting with those works. Long as they are, I can perhaps comfort the potential reader by assuring you that once you start them, you won’t be able to put them down.

I think that for us, ignorance-and the lack of it, the knowing of truth-are relative terms. We know truth by degree, by learning and by stripping away falsehood little by little. We’re born into ignorance. One could just as well ask, Why is there darkness at all in this world? or Why did the fall of mankind happen to begin with? We simply know that God allows man’s freedom to reign here for now, with all the resulting consequences, good and bad. One bad consequence is that the people of the true Church-including the leaders-don’t always practice her own gospel as well as they should. Another unfortunate consequence was the Reformation.

But God’s in ultimate control and His will will be done -our job is to seek truth and find it. But He doesn’t force us to seek it with utmost earnestness-He doesn’t force us to seek it at all. In any case for now we are to forge ahead with the truth we’ve gained, trying to create God’s kingdom here on earth until the final consummation takes place and God’s perfect kingdom reigns where His will is always done and where we will see face to face, no longer groping in darkness or in any form of ignorance.

Excaliber,
Before I call the church you’ve been going to, are you open to me looking at some of the other parishes in the area? I’m trying to determine which one is close to you, and yet offers the most programs. That could provide a better fit… I know you’ve already switched once due to the location.

(I can see if I can compile a list of churches that are nearby to see if any will work.)

Excaliber,
Check your private messages. I sent you some information about activities at your parish.

Am i just… missing something or… (and/or) is Excaliber… hmmm…

What’s the word or term I’m looking for?

Resisting too much truth just because it is Catholic?? Yeah, i guess that is probably the best way to put it…

at this point, I am feeling kinda like this…

:banghead:

😃

God bless… I am out of time… gotta go. 🙂

Honestly, distracted, I don’t think so. If you were as traumatized as he was in his former denomination, you’d be skeptical of everything too…

Role tide is correct…I did not want doubts. but I had PLENTY of time to develop them.

Role tide do you remember when we first met…it was like a year ago.

I found out I had to wait for the next rcia, that gave me toooo much time to notice toooo much stuff.

Yea my Jehovahs witness experience was traumatizing, one of my relatives even told me I needed to see a psychologist…but I just left bethel and had no money for that stuff.

Mabey Im making progress though, because I battle with atheism a lot.

If I wounder if God cares, that means I believe in God, And that’s a step in the correct direction.

Now I gota figure out how to 1)trust a Church again
2)Some how go back to feeling like God loves me, like I did before
my former church ruined my life.
3)and some how become the opposite of EVERYTHING I believed my whole life.

But if all things are possible with God, I have nothing to worry about. (GULP!!!) 😉

i’m still confused about whether you, Excaliber, are a “he”… I guess it doesn’t really matter, though… when it comes to the soul… we are neither male or female… to speak of…

🙂
Yes, Excaliber is a he… lol
