Jesus promised that the gates of Hell would not prevail against HIs Church… He never promised it would not prevail over us as individuals… That is why it is important to be in His Church, using the “weapons” the Church provides for fighting our enemy, the devil… who is smarter than we are… has been around longer than we have… knows all the tricks in the book… (wrote the book… in fact… the book of lies, etc…).
Even so people who push you into the Church… well, its not like if you join the Church, everything is going to be smooth sailing form then on… some things may get worse… they did for me…(at times…). but it was a learning experience and learning can be very PAINFUL…

But it really is true that trite old saying No pain, No gain… Learning, even if painful, is a good thing… It is what life is all about, really…
God bless…
I think I disagree…Individuals ARE the church. This thread originally was about…If God is concerned with individuals or christians as a whole.
Everyone said its individuals.
Individual Christians are able to speak Directly to God…am I right?
So logicaly God is interested in individual Christians if he hears and answers prayer.
Ok so back to my point.
I don’t understand denominations and schsims…technicaly a baptised Christian should be powerfull…able to imitate Christ,
So how is it Possible for a christian to honestly search for God…and end up in one of thousands of denominations?
Acording to the bible, If you ask God for something acording to his will…He WILL answer.
Then technicaly what I am experiencing is impossible!!
There are THOUSANDS of denominations that supposedly follow scripture.
There is division every where!!!
If one concludes that the Catholic church is the true church…then one must find out WHICH Catholic church is the correct one.
THIS is a big problem, The Roman catholic church is EXTREMELY difficult to judge, because Roman Catholics are soooo introverted, probably the most introverted. So I can’t say " hey these people have The Holy Spirit working in them, because they have personality traits that come from The Holy Spirit."
So I get stuck. Roman Catholics make the most sence when it comes to ATHORITY. But Roman Catholics are impossible to observe because they don’t interact at church.
That’s the key ingredient that’s missing!!! I can’t observe Roman Catholics. I can observe Orthodox Catholics, they did not just run home after worship was concluded. Is any of what Im saying make sence?
