Liberals often say that the Bible is flawed because it tolerates slavery. Our Lord did not say one thing against involuntary servitude, but he did say a lot against the slavery of sin. The Apostles took the Gospel to every corner of the Roman Empire, but their message was never “free the slaves,” “end poverty.” After all the root cause of all this was the same hardness of heart that led the Judean leaders to hand him over to the Romans and the Romans cruely to execute him. Slavery and poverty, war and social injustice are but symptoms of what really troubles humanity: divided hearts , which made them lust after blood one moment and be moved to tears by a baby’s smile the next.I know, it is a crazy, insane idea to feed the hungry rather than kill them.
The Democratic Party once tolerated slavery too. Maybe we should point that out to our liberal “friends”.
Well he doesn’t understand one thing: many,many of the women who die from childbirth are actually young girls, too young to have babies, but are subject to the lust of their husbands. How many of these girls would survive but for the pernicious cistoms of their peoples.
