I suppose they can’t. I just don’t understand why God would shut out two beings in his image regardless of gender.
This is where concupiscence comes in. We are all sinners as a result of Adam’s sin. That means we have a tendency toward disorder and corruption. Man by himself cannot overcome this tendency. We need the grace that flows from God.

Basically we can face towards God and accept His grace, or we can shun Him by turning our back to Him and brush aside this free gift He offers.

In your own personal relationships when your back is turned to someone you love, how do you feel. There is something missing, right? You want to fix it. Yu have to be face to face again. This is the same with God. But, God is always facing you. He never turns His back. time and time again He calls us. Do we listen?

🙂 hi every one excuse me for jumping in. i beleive there is one religious reason for being against homosexual activity and that is God commanded us to be fruitful and multiply. homosexuals can not meet that commandment. God does love homosexuals though, everbody’s favorite St John3:16. Jesus said some are born enunchs, which means one who can not multiply, i think perhaps he was refering to homosexuals.this applies only to those who truly feel that they are this way,not some who tried it and prefered this satisfaction of the flesh.it would be very pleasing to God if(this is my opinion only)one in this condition were to live a chaste and holy life.Jesus will closer to those who truly need him then those who are in less need of Him. What would one give more compassion to a bird with a broken wing or one that flies freely.peace
Homosexuals can choose to multiply. Sterility is the issue here.

Married life by God’s definition is between a man and women. Male and female He created them.

How do homosexuals consumate their so called marriage?
Again, a religious belief not shared by all. In my Meeting a couple requests the Meeting to place their relationship under their care. After interviews and counseling, the Meeting authorizes a Meeting for Worship for Marriage.

The marriage takes place at a Meeting for Worship. Those in attendence can offer ministry to the couple as the Spirit moves them. The two Friends sit on or near the facing bench and at the appointed time each stands and says…“In the presence of God and these our friends, I take thee … to be my wife (husband, partner), promising with Divine assistance to be unto thee a loving and faithful husband (wife, partner) so long as we both shall live.”

They sit down, Meeting resumes, when Meeting is over all gather and sign the certificate and according to the Meeting the couple is “Married after the manner of Friends”. In those states where same sex unions are allowed or those counties or cities, the certificate is registered.

But there are some homosexual couples that aren’t trying to turn their back on God.

Is it possible for God to be gracious to people who are just wired differently?

Jesus could have also meant those who choose the single life and remain chaste for his sake.

Wow! That is the clearest, most concise post I have ever read from you! I completely agree with the above statement. There can be no broad approval. See how easy it is to just answer a question without trying to proselytize or show how “wrong” we Christians are by using Scripture “against us”? Finally!👍
I agree with most things except Trinity being a major one, and even in that I agree that for all practical purposes Jesus is same as God ruling over us, though not born a God. So we’re not all that different.

🙂 hi buffalo, how can a homosexual person choose to multiply? If a gay male took a wife for the sole purpose of multiplying then that marriage would be null and viod.making it not a true union which would also be sin? like i said it only my opinion stated not the church’s teaching. As far as i know the church has not stated what the words i quoted truly mean. please correct me if i am wrong.

Good posts all.

Then, in the obedience of God, are homosexuals condemned to be single, lonely, and unhappy for the rest of their lives? 😦
Andrew,

In order for my mother to be “happy,” she felt she had to have an affair with my father’s best friend. Do you think it was right for her to do so, since to find happiness she had to commit adultery?

Robert Pickton felt that the only way for him to be “happy” was to brutally murder an estimated forty-nine women. Do you think it was right for him to do so, since to find happiness he had to commit murder?

I’m interested to hear your thoughts.

🙂 hi booklover i can’t seem to find the exact quote in scripture as of yet. it does however continue on to take in those who choose to remain chaste for God.

(FYI, I’m not gay, I just have struggles with certain beliefs and seek answers of my own)

You’ve proved my choice of words was wrong. :o Neither of of those instances are justified by happiness.

But homosexuality is neither adultery nor murder 😊

Homosexual behavior (not the inclination, but the behavior) is a sin just like adultery and murder.

Your argument seems to suggest that my mother (for example) was entirely justified in committing adultery since “God doesn’t want her to be unhappy” and the only way she felt she COULD be happy was to commit adultery.

Why would you say that my mother was not justified in committing adultery, if that’s what made her happy? Do you think God wanted my mother to be unhappy?

Perhaps I should say what I just said again - THOSE instances aren’t justified by happiness.

Plus, there are alternatives to adultery and murder. It was your mother’s choice to pursue that route.

Where do you derive your authority to do this?

We should be gracious and charitable. However, true Christian charity demands fraternal correction.

We are all “wired” a little different. We all have our crosses. We all are sinners for the Church is a hospital for sinners. When you are in the hospital you are there to get physically healthy. The Church is here to help all get spritually healthy.

I won’t ask you to embrace my sins because I try to justify them. A sin is a sin is a sin no matter the “wiring”.

OK - Let’s take religion out of it. But then you will have to answer my ambulance scenario. Are you game or content to hide under your cover?

I can show you with or without religion.

Not everyone is meant to have a significant other. Some people God asks to remain single for reasons we may never understand. I am heterosexual, but even though I find myself to be a bright, engaging and beautiful person. I may still never find that one person to devote my whole life to. I accept this as God’s plan for me. Of course, I could go and find some random person and marry them, but I wouldn’t be following God’s plan for me. But I can still find happiness and love around me. Just a different kind of love. I am not lonely because I have family and friends around me. To suggest that because I have no significant partner, I subsequently have a horrible and meaningless life is just stupid. Sorry.

But we never really know what path God wants us to take. Some people are convinced of their vocation, but could be wrong.

What if married life is the calling for a homosexual? Why should his/her lifestyle be a deterrent?

Because acting in a sinful way cannot be a calling from God.
