Who says you can’t have them both? They make some interesting paints to solve this problem.😉
Took me a minute, then my brain went…

Somehow, these threads always go a little haywire. :o

We should be mindful that teens read this board…Just saying.:o

God made pleasures better than sex!?

No…WAY!

😛
Kidding, I wouldn’t know. Though if food can compete, I’ll need to re-examine my vocation…Kidding again

a couple of comments…

1> sex is the closes thing to heaven on earth…

and

2> there is not such thing as bad sex…

but there can be bad food…

I need to call my wife…bye

Well, if you ever do meet the right woman, I’ll be sure to tell her the way to -your- heart is definitely through your stomach. 😛

Seriously, though, what whatevergirl said is right(as far as the theology goes, I am not yet experienced in these areas yet >.>). I am not a huge fan of food myself, so I think I will (hopefully) enjoy sex more than food. I just eat cause I have to stay alive and all that.

From what I do know about sex, I think you have to have a good relationship with the person outside of the bedroom in order for the sex life to be any good. Not saying there won’t be any pleasure at all(prostitutes, anyone?) just that it seems it would be better if you have more connecting you than sex. But I don’t plan to experiment to find out. >.>

So yeah, sex is not the ‘ultimate pleasure’, it can be good or bad depending on your relationship with the other person. If there are problems enough to cause you to divorce, the sex life is probably not going well, either.

Sex is often made to look like the ultimate pleasure, but I have logic that refutes this claim…d.
I can’t find that part.

Given that you can’t personally compare sex to eating, your comment is bizarre, to say the least.

This made me laugh… hahahah nice.

I am a single Man, so I will need to hear from the married couples to proove my theory.

Sex is often made to look like the ultimate pleasure, but I have logic that refutes this claim.

I am single but my parents have divorced a number of times, so I have seen marriages fail.

It seems to me that food is just as good if not better then sex.
I have not read in the bible that God ever said sex was the ultimate
pleasure.

Think about your favorite food, and washing it down with your favorite drink…Ahhhhhh!!!
Pure pleasure!!!

Sex on the other hand, I hear is not always good. I hear that sometimes people are not very sexualy compatible…but they don’t
know it because they canot have sex prior to the marriage.

This is not a problem with food and drink. Tast something you don’t like??? Well you get something different.

Sex canot be the ultimate pleasure
because if it was, divorce would be ilogical. Despite problems you would have access to the greatest pleasure on the planet, that would make remaining married better then divorce. But that is not the case.

Food never gets old!!!
I love my favorite foods, just as much as I did 10 years ago.

I magine being at a reasturant, you have a steaming hot delicious
plate in front of you.
And yet you can still look at the persons plate that’s sitting next to you and yet you do not sin.

Food may be something God created DIRECTLY to be pleasure. Sex was not created for pure pleasure because the purpose is to have children.

Now the bible dose say to be intoxicated by your mate…to be in an extasy constantly…to rejoice with the wife of your youth. But this is poetic and possibly not literally meaning what it says.

My conclusion is that food is better
then sex with all drawbacks being considerd.
Seriously? Wow. Maybe it’s a good thing you’re single. I mean, it would break my heart if I thought my husband would rather have a sandwich than have sex with me.

I like to eat. My figure can attest to that fact. 😉 Still, sex, with the man I love is so much better.🙂

What about music… that does not make you ill. Your favorite CD?
Just rock out to your favorite music. Is that not pure pleasure?
My favorite CD does not even come close to even just seeing my husband. Sorry.

excaliber–I imagine you meant this thread to be fun and light hearted…but since we speak from a Catholic perspective on this board, and many non Catholics are viewing this board (and they might think we Catholics only think about sex which we don’t :o )…it probably lost some of the humor that you intended. I am not a prude, and like a good laugh like the next person, but when speaking of sex, it will never be a commodity like food. Food is a commodity to be bought, and is very fleeting. Sex is definitely to be savored, and cherished…and it could never be compared with even the most fantastic meal.

Again, when trying to overcome thoughts that you wish to not have…changing something to mean something else, really doesn’t work.

But, I did catch your humor about this…just wanted to add that!😛

I must respectfully disagree.

Being English, it is clear that a good cup of tea* is better than food or sex.

*P.S. And I’m sorry - Americans just have not got it yet. You must use water that has only just stopped boiling to make a pot of tea. You make it in a pot and then you pour the tea into a cup or mug with milk. You do not give someone a pot of hot water and a tea bag to put in their cup. I’ve been travelling regularly to the US for 15 years now and I have almost given up trying to get a proper cup of tea.

Yeah - stop tempting us poor single people with your tales of how great it is:p 😃

I’m off to start another thread ‘Is it a sin to be really smug?’😉

Edited to say I mean sex - not tea:thumbsup:

Can you blame us? We tossed all your tea in the harbor years ago and decided we like coffee better. 🙂

Mmm…coffee.

Next time you travel, bring your electric kettle. That way you can have a nice cup of tea every morning and evening. I have the same problem, and I live here.

But even the best cup of tea on the coldest wettest day, doesn’t come close to some alone time with my husband.

You should devote an entire blog to your quest, calling it “In search of a good cup of tea.”

:rotfl: This thread is HILARIOUS!!!

and, I pick making love with my husband over anything else. even chocolate. 😃 What I want know, though, is why I have to choose? :rotfl: So I guess I pick husband *and *chocolate… preferably at the same time! :rotfl:
