God meets you where you are. And why that can sound threatening

*If God “meets us where we are,” then we can see a possible dilemma: there may be less of a need to follow traditional rules that have held the community together. And many of these rules come from Jesus himself — who, for example, spoke against divorce. So many sincere believers feel great concern about a possible setting aside of rules.

On the other hand, if the church focuses too heavily on the rules, it will prevent people from feeling that God can meet them where they are, because they’re not where they should be. And the last thing the church should be doing is preventing people from feeling that they can approach God, and God can approach them.*

God meets us where we are but that is only the beginning of an endless journey of formation for all of us. We all have more growth to go than we realize.

Yes, very true! And yet it seems that many in our modern age have seem to have forgotten this while advocating that we must leave them where they are. I have noticed that many people always say things like we are not to judge someone and their actions and simply have love them for who they are. Forgive me if I do become a bit upset over this. :o

It seems to me that the world truly have a false sense of love and even mercy for in their eyes, forgiving someone of their transgressions is all there is to it. In the eyes of the Holy Church as well as God, mercy does mean forgiving one’s transgressions but it must also call that person to a path of repentance and redemption. And to truly authentically LOVE like our God we must have Empathy as the article suggests, Mercy as God and His Holy Church advocates, and the Truth which God is.

It is difficult to put into practice I do not lie about this, but if we are open to God, we can do so!

Again, that’s a wonderful find gilliam! Gerard O’Connell thinks there will be some kind of encyclical or exhortation relating to the synod but leaving doors open for growth.

He did a really good job of debunking the conspiracy theorists as well. He wonders if the bottom line is that they just don’t like Francis. I’ve wondered that too especially the ones who refer to him as Bergoglio all the time.

Finally, what a nice interviewer man. I want a nice boy like that for my daughter!

Jesus didn’t walk very far with the adulteress woman before He told her not to sin anymore.
 
The father of the prodigal son went out to meet him where he was, but did not feed him until he had fully expressed hos repentance…
