It’s good that a film like this can still be made in Hollywood. Hollywood is a bastion of liberalism and irreligion. I see that this film was not produced by a major studio. Are major studios that anti-Christian? I also like how Mike Huckabee appears in the film.

And if I remember correctly, the writers of the film are Catholic. They appeared on either the Chris Aubert show or Joe Sikorra show last week, IIRC (maybe both).

The major Hollywood studios are amoral. If they think “it” will make a buck, whatever “it” is, then they’ll give it a try… But, like politicians, they are lobbied. They are under great pressure by various special interest groups to promote fake words like “inclusion,” and “diversity.” The moment a TV show is cancelled that involves these two words then the lobbyists for these groups call it a threat to inclusion and diversity.
Right now, showing perversity and dysfunctional living are the two primary things Hollywood is caught up in. Christianity would just not “fit in.” One reason being that religion is against perversity and dysfunctional living being presented as perfectly normal.

The reviews of Atlas Shrugged say it all about Hollywood. They can’t even stand a libertine economics film!
Just look at what happened when Melissa Joan Hart and Stacey Dash came out as supporting just some conservative principles.
Talk about a war on women!
Nonsense has been plaguing Hollywood pretty much ever since they started making movies.
It’s just now they can maneuver with impunity because the wider culture supports immorality.

Then we need to turn out in droves for movies like this one. Mel Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ showed that there was still a huge market for religious-based movies. Cinemas generally only care about making money off of concessions, but if enough people show up to religious-based movies and stay away from movies that are in conflict with our values, then production companies will cater to what is selling tickets. Honestly, the only language that production companies speak is the language of money. There’s simply more money right now in producing smut than faith-based movies. The second problem is that most faith-based movies right now are simply not that great as movies. Pretty much, ask yourself, “If this movie was not an overt evangelization tool, would I watch it?” If not, then it’s not really a good movie. Honestly, we need more movies that share Christian values but in a way that isn’t overt evangelization (because such movies only attract the choir). Go with the mold of the “Lord of the Rings” (the books, not so much the movies - even though the movies were about as faithful to the books as could be expected in only 3 2 1/2 hour movies), and you understand what I mean. Or if you’re going to do an overtly faith-based movie, look at the mold of “The Robe” or “The Ten Commandments”. Make it a good story, and people will want to watch.

No, we really don’t. Just because a movie’s religious doesn’t mean it has the same moral or artistic weight as “The Passion of the Christ” or “Ben-Hur.”
The first one sucked. So does this one, from the snippets I’ve seen.

People often complain about the “Christian” movies being low budget, no stars, scripts could use work … or some Catholics will complain they are too “Protestant” …
We nearly stopped going to theaters decades ago because of all the movies that lack moral values and positive messages - glorifying sin & evil, drugs, violence for the sake of violence etc. … only going to the rare film … then about a dozen years back we realized we needed to go to movies that were put about by groups like the people who made "God is not Dead" and "God is not Dead 2" ,and others “Fireproof”, “October Baby”, “Facing the Giants”, “War Room” etc …
And its important to go opening weekend too … I go because its important to financially support these groups so they will make more movies and if they are financially viable - the quality, and number of movies made illustrating positive Christian values will increase.
I watched both God is not Dead movies with groups from my parish and enjoyed both

I liked the first one, and will probably see this one, but to your remark, I agree, but Hollywood recognizes they have to make movies that will draw people in…that means making moves about things that are currently popular.
If they re-made Citizen Kane, I doubt it would draw a large crowd in todays world.
Look at the some of the re-occurring movie themes in big budget Hollywood movies today, that will show you what is ‘popular’ today…
(These are imo of course, but I think accurate as I see a lot of movies).
1.Action adventure/ shootem ups
2.modern love stories/ comedy dramas
3.Alien invasion/ alien movies in general
4.underdog stories
5.modernized old fashioneds, re-makes of older movies

The “wider culture” took 40 years to gradually poison. I watched it happen. You can stop ingesting immoral media whenever you want.
Impunity? No. One film can make a difference.
