This crosses the line. The woman merits censure.
"A House candidate President Trump recently called “a future Republican star” posted an image of herself holding a rifle with photos of three liberal congresswomen of color and the vow to “go on the offense” against members of the “Squad,” an unprecedented threat against lawmakers from a probable future colleague.

Marjorie Taylor Greene, the GOP candidate for a Georgia congressional seat in a heavily Republican district and a professed QAnon conspiracy believer, posted the photoshopped image on Facebook on Thursday that includes Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.). On Friday, the post from Greene had been taken down.

Before it was removed, the caption under the gun-toting Greene read: “Squad’s worst nightmare.”

“Hate America leftists want to take this country down,” Greene wrote. “Our country is on the line. America needs fighters who speak the truth. We need strong conservative Christians to go on the offense against these socialists who want to rip our country apart. Americans must take our country back. SAVE AMERICA. STOP SOCIALISM. DEFEAT THE DEMOCRATS!”"

And this is different than the many times the squad have disrespected so many others how?

I haven’t heard them threatening a member of Congress with physical violence. This woman’s comments were out of line. Or do you think that kind of talk is appropriate?

You support hoaxers? God help us all.

First, there isn’t a threat of violence in Greene’s post. Going on the offense means what it means, just like football, basketball, baseball, and so on. It’s only the liberals who are all twisted up because an American exercised her 2nd Amendment right to bear arms. It’s only the liberals who are threatened by the sight of gun.

It’s ironic that the second post on this topic is about getting armed guards for the house members. But as we have learned over the last four years, there are rules for them and a whole different set for us.

Here are some examples of threats from three of the squad. Not all are toward members of congress, but one is toward the President. And then there is Maxine Waters who encouraged liberals everywhere to harass members of Trump administration and known GOP supporters anywhere they find them.

Are you saying you cannot tell the difference between someone holding a gun and someone compiling a list?

If you worked in a convenience store and somebody came in and pointed a gun at you would you feel threatened? How about if they came in with a pen and paper?

Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s closed-door warning last week that Democrats who vote with Republicans are “putting themselves on a list”

What I’m say is I CAN tell the difference. I don’t get all twisted the minute I see a gun. I see nothing wrong with an American expressing her 2A right. I don’t always see a gun as a threat. I also believe those that are against guns fail to consider the whole concept of why we have the 2A and why it’s important.

If someone came into a store I was in and pointed a weapon at me, I would be afraid. You little scenario has absolutely nothing to do with the photo being discussed.

I’m guessing you are just fine with the threats made the Dems, the foul language, the encouragement of violence, of disruption, destruction. But the picture of a woman holding a gun is too much.

Someone running for Congress should not use that type of language or veiled threats. No matter how much he or she is just speaking figuratively. I would not have thought that the country had sunk so low.

I would condemn anyone who incites violence or makes threats. Ms. Peolsi has not done that.

I don’t identify as liberal and I’m pro-2nd amendment. But if someone is sporting a gun while claiming to be “on the offense” against political opponents, yeah, I’d be threatened. Folks like these give responsible gun owners a bad rap. Firearms aren’t for casual flexing against those we dislike.

BTW, here’s the pic that was removed from FB:

Ah yes, the standard conservative response “how dare you call out the sins of conservative leaders because the other side is way worse!” What a depressing mindset to find on a Catholic forum.

Now after seeing the picture I see it as less as a threat as before. She is simply holding the rifle, not pointing it anyone, the three on the side are clearly not intended to be targets.

I understand she is pretty far right politically but she is not talking about physical violence. Saying she wants to fight for this country isn’t saying anything different that any other candidate running.

At the dread judgment seat the excuse “the other guy was worse” will not fly.

It is beyond the pale. But the really frightening thing is that she has her supporters, and not just a few people.

Seems to me it is Trump who is mainly Anti-American, especially with regard to the military, if his recent statements are accurate. But this is not at all surprising to those of us who have followed his New York City career for a long time, as well as his presidency.

Saying she’s fighting for this country with a firearm is definitely something different.

With guns?? Against fellow citizens?? Against elected officials?? 😳

I guess you didn’t read the whole thread. One poster claimed no one in Congress had behaved in this manner before so I showed him some examples of members of Congress doing exactly that. That poster could not respond to the post as there was no way to deny it.

Then he made the claim that nobody should be using that kind of language or veiled threats and then claimed the country had sunk so low with this incident. I then reminded him the country sank low in 2018 when a member of Congress felt it was OK to call the President of the United States a foul name.

What I find depressing is the efforts Catholics will go to justify their support of the Democrat party knowing they are pro-abortion up to birth, for making the taxpayers pay for said abortions, pro euthanasia, pro same sex marriage, pro LGBTQ agenda, pro gender identity whatever and allowing parents to change the gender of their children.
