Dr William Gray, a pioneer in the science of seasonal hurricane forecasts, told a packed lecture hall at the University of North Carolina that humans were not responsible for the warming of the earth.
His comments came on the same day that the Nobel committee honoured Mr Gore for his work in support of the link between humans and global warming.
“We’re brainwashing our children,” said Dr Gray, 78, a long-time professor at Colorado State University. “They’re going to the Gore movie An Inconvenient Truth] and being fed all this. It’s ridiculous.”

78 years old. This is a common thread among the scientific community who publicly doubt global warming as a human influenced phenomenon.

I heard similar sentiments from an professor with an Oxford Climatology phd who I spoke to after a conference. I asked why it seemed that most of the scientists who publicly doubt AGW seem to be older. He said it isn’t so much age as academic security. Young scientists who express skepticism about AGW have a very hard time getting funded, have a harder time getting tenure and will have a VERY hard time getting published. He expressed that in all his years in science, he had never seen anything like this current change in academic ‘climate,’ so to speak.

He should get the cold shoulder; a British judge has ruled that his film has nine serious errors. Gore should be embarrassed and want to correct them instantly.

Gore’s message is brilliant and factual, but his film did have a few errors.

Ah another case of “fake but accurate”. It seems to be the battleg cry of the left nowadays.

I wonder is it ethical for Gore to fly to Stockholm to receive this award? He will put more carbon in the the atmosphere by that one trip than most of us will in a year. Woulnt the prudent thing for him to do is to stay home?

Yes, he should. He’d pretty hypocritical, but his message is factual.

Here is what is factual . . . the earth is warming.

Here is what is Gore’s theory . . . its all man’s fault.

Here is what many scientists believe . . . its not man’s fault.

So tell me please, because you and I can both agree that the earth is warming, but what OTHER part of the message is factual?

I ask, because Gore makes lots of claims about what will happen under the assumption that global warming is man’s fault. But the scientists make claims that the warming is cyclical and those claims suggest a different outcome.

Who is right? How do we know?

Why is Al Gore more of an expert than scientists who have studied this issue and disagree with him?

Sorry, but Gore’s message is far from brilliant.

When I see Al riding a bike to work, or sitting on the jammed subway next to me, or living in a studio apartment, then and only then will I buy into his fantasies about humans causing all of this global chaos he is ranting about.

As long as he rides in private jets, rides in limos, and lives in a 20,000 square foot house, he can forget about me changing my lifestyle. Oh wait, he buys carbon credits to make up for all that doesn’t he?! What a hero of nature!😃

As manualman said, it’s all about the money, period…

Actually, he doesn’t buy carbon credits. He is an owner of a company that “makes” carbon credits by growing trees in the tropics. He gets his credits for free. Others, of course, have to pay, and, of course, he profits from that.

Ah yes, Gore “buys” carbon credits from his own company for his excess use of energy. And in his particular case, since he “BUYS” those carbon credits from his own company, it’s like he is taking money out of his right pocket and putting it in his left pocket and then telling the rest of us he paid for something and so somehow he made all his energy excesses “OK”. The hypocrisy is beyond belief.

Of course, I don’t believe in “carbon credits” anyway, I think it’s a sham. But it’s probably a sham that many people will foolishly buy into. In fact those who are looking at this issue should also consider what it is that some people or company has to gain by any proposal. If you think there aren’t people waiting to make money on this, I’m sorry, but you’re naive. This is all about money and who can make their case so that they can make the money.

Indeed, they say the name of the game is “follow the money” ~ so let’s just follow that money & it’s likely that we will find out is that this agenda is being pushed by people who want to make money from the issue.
