Interesting opinion piece from former Ohio Attorney General, Ken Blackwell about Belmont Abbey College:

The EEOC, now populated by radicals appointed by the Obama Administration, is complaining of Belmont Abbey’s practice of not providing abortion-inducing contraceptives to their employees in their health insurance plan.

Wonder what will happen if government run health care is adopted? It will get worse than this one example.

My company’s plan only provides medically necessary services. Birth control and abortion are not considered medically necessary in most cases. Birth control pills to control endometriosis would be covered. Termination of a tubal pregnancy would be covered. HOWEVER, our insurance plan is self-funded. When we offered a fully funded plan for the areas where our service administrator didn’t offer coverage, that plan did pay for birth control for the purpose of birth control. Abortion came up one time, and we declined it. The associate was a big shot, and the head of HR made the final call, and I don’t know what they decided. I do recall a discussion on whether it was better to pay for an abortion or to pay the enormous anticipated medical expenses of the child. I can’t remember what was wrong with the fetus, but it something pretty major that would be an ongoing condition. I was a peon in this process, but I remember thinking that if it was me, and I was determined to do this, I would just fork out the few hundred dollars it would cost and keep my mouth shut about it.
