Congratulations to Louisville, Ky!!! You are about to get an incredible man. Our bishop, Joseph Kurtz, has been named the Archbishop of Louisville, Ky. His installment ceremony will be August 15th. While he has been the bishop here, our diocese has been able to maintain the Traditional Latin Mass, as well as Byzantine mass. He is responsive to the people he shepherds, yet he upholds Catholic Doctrine.
I have been to several meetings and conferences where he has been a speaker and he emanates the love of God and the Church. You can feel it as soon as he enters the room.
I am very saddened to see him leave us, but very happy for him and the Archdiocese of Louisville. Luckily, the Diocese of Knoxville is under the Archdiocese of Louisville, so while he will still be with us, he will be further away.
Other news…we have a new parish (thanks to Bishop Kurtz),
St Albert the Great. Brand new, we don’t a have a church, but meet at the local St Mary’s Hospital.
