I hope hes ok too! I think George was being really sweet to her, its amazing that he is the one to be there for her in her time of need. I love him! he is my favorite character on the show. I think Meredith put her hand in there as a reflex and now shes thinking “what did I just do?” but her character is obviously very brave and eduring so maybe it was courage. I will be glued myself this Sunday!
Personally, I can’t stand Meredith – she just strikes me as whiny and indecisive and basically a basket case – I’d rather watch Izzy who at least has some stability to her personality…she’s smart, strong and a much more likeable character imho…

I love all the characters on the show, too. I hope Bailey’s husband makes it, too.
Oh, and I was SO happy to see Alex and Izzie get together finally.
I had been waiting for that since their kiss in the bar.

PS – I think I’d find a new hospital if she walked in and said “um, hi…I know I may seem completely distracted and needy, but don’t worry about that, I’m going to cut you open today, so try to relax…”
😃

My favorite is George. He seems noble and down to earth. I am annoyed with Meredith because she is hung up on a married guy. What is with that? I know she is just a character but I think some women are gluttens for punishment.

My other favorite is Dr. Baily. She pushes them so hard so they become good doctors.

Per comment earlier-heat of the moment or not I was disappointed about what took place in the closet. If I was single and in that situation you can bet premarital sex would not be on my list. I would be praying, praying, praying! 🙂

I think Dr. Baily’s husband is going to pull through, he HAS to! It is obvious that he is her rock and I think it would be devastating to her character if that happened.

One of my favorite parts of the show was when Izzy and George talked about being a doer vs. a watcher. I think that is so true.
I was thinking about my prayer life lately, as I have been going through a dry period, and it reminded me that sometimes I have to make things happen. 🙂

I loved that part too. Izzy “you know what George we gotta be doers” Izzy gets up and leaves. George “yea you know…oh we’re starting now? yes lets go be doers…yea” I love George he is SO adorable!

I notice people find lots of interesting things about the show that have little to do with sex.

I just watched the last episode, it was so good! I can’t wait for next one. I think I would have the courage to put my hand in and hold the bomb, but I don’t know. I think it was terrible that the anesesiologist left her though, that would be terrifying.

How funny! I was talking to a couple of co-workers who were talking about the show. I watched it for the first time, and I have to admit, this is going to be part of my Sunday-night tv line-up! (No more “Desperate Housewives” - got boring for me!)

Watched the opening of the show on Sunday night after the Super Bowl and saw a shower scene with multiple women…and turned it off immediately since trash is trash and not worth my time.

As for the storylines, I’ll guarantee, as having lived the medical life, that they are basically cartoons of what it is to be a medical professional. Same goes for all the medical shows all the way back to Dr. Kildare through Marcus Welby, ER, etc.

of course they are cartoons. If we want more realism we can watch Discovery Health.

I can’t stand Grey’s Anatomy. The people are just too promiscuous for me. If that is what a hospital is like, I hope I never get sick. I will take Desperate Housewives over Grey’s Anatomy any day.

The people on Desperate Housewives just can’t get away with a thing (including illicit sex) without some negative consequence happening. When Bree’s whacko pharmacist boyfriend wanted her to sleep with him, she broke out in hives! When the “gofer” employee on Desperate Housewives had sex with the boss, she ended up getting fired!

Grey’s Anatomy seems more immoral to me than Desperate Housewives. The people on Grey’s Anatomy seem to just sleep around with no negative consequences. Besides, that horrible boss of theirs is just too much for me to take.

We tried watching it, but there was way too much, way over the top melodramatic baloney.

Turns out there is a ton of stuff on A&E, History Channel, Discovery, Not to mention EWTN, especially Fr. Groeschel and other tapable shows… Fr. Dubay, Fr. Corapi. Entertaining and enlightening. We record much more than we have time to watch. New show: “Flip This House” on A&E, which is hilarious. And “Flip THAT House” on some other channel - often the gang that couldn’t shoot straight. Plus House Invaders on BBC America. Lee Ermy. Suze Orman. Jim Cramer.
Lots of available chewing gum for the mind without GA.

I watch some of those shows…plus 24 and Dancing w/ Stars…
American Idol too.

I tried watching GA but as a medical student could not understand why a surgeon would be taking care of premies especially in a big hospital. Hello, they have neonatology fellows and pediatric residents to do that. Geez. After that, I just gave up on most hospital shows. I get too much hospital as a third year medical student. Plus I get so frustrated when they don’t get things right.

If you have to watch a hospital drama: stick with House or Scrubs. House, you can actually learn something. My husband got a couple of questions right on his exam after watching House the night before :). And what can I say about Scrubs… it is hilarious and probably much more true to a hospital dynamics than GA.

I always said, if I have some disease that no one knows about, I want “House” called in on consult. I LOVE that guy!!

How great was Grey’s Anatomy last night?! I just LOVE George!

I don’t know. He always seems to go through about a dozen misdiagnoses, nearly killing the patient, before he finally gets it right. Of course, any doc would be preferable to the bunch of emotional wrecks portrayed on Grey’s Anatomy. I wouldn’t want them in the same hospital with anyone I cared about.

They moved the patient with the bomb to a different part of the building.
Meredith did take out the bomb and as the Bomb Squad guy gingerly took it out of the room she waited a moment and then walked into the hallway, watching him take it out. Then, it exploded! She was knocked to the floor and unfortunately the 2 bomb squad guys died.
She was covered with the “pink mist” discussed in last weeks episode.
What was really interesting is that George had that “fantasy” about the 3 girls in the shower last week. This week he walked in to find all 3 women, clothed, in the shower helping to clean off Meredith.
Dr. Baily’s husband pulled through and the head honcho didn’t have a heart attack but a really bad anxiety attack.

Oh, for folks who call GA trash and Desperate housewives “okay”, I guess the scene where Gabby was nearly naked in lingerie didn’t offend?
All I am saying is that with respect to people on this forum I think we need to give a little credit for personal discernment about what is appropriate and inappropriate.
