I don’t think that Jesus would wish us to “demand” either in this case.
Littleone, reread my posts. This is exactly what I’m saying. Jesus did NOT demand. But he did command.

Can you see a difference between a husband commanding his wife to do this or that? And a husband demanding his wife do this or that?

Demanding is bad.

Commanding is good.

Hey I read what I have writen and maybe I have writen wrongly but all I was saying is that I agree with you. You are right Jesus never demanded but to command comes right from our Father in Heaven to Adam and Eve commanding they not eat the fruit, then the “ten commandments” given to Moses. and on and on…
Sorry if I gave a wrong impression I agree with your point.

God bless

One of the most frequent statements in a marriage ceremony is: “Today I marry my best friend.”

I’ve always found that statement a little wierd, but if you read between the lines it is true.

Would you hesitate a second to tell your best buddy:
they were doing something wrong?
were doing something that p*ssed you off?
were doing something hurtful to themselves or others?
confide in them about something you feel strongly about?

Probably not.

But most of us are hesitant to do the same with our spouses for fear of upsetting them… what’s the difference?.. I married my best friend didn’t I…??

There is a book called Sex Begins in the Kitchen by Lehman, I think. I recommend it.
