I was wondering if there was some kind of compiled guide regarding the Celebration of Mass with University Students on Campus. Or is there some kind of guide that details liturgical abuse and the exact references of what is actually supposed to be done. (Aside from Redemptionis Sacramentum)
Why I am asking is because just today for exam mass, full crystal chalices and patens were used and the crucifix on the altar was just a cyrstal cuboid with the crucifix laser etched. The preparation of the bread and wine was done sitting down. We were instructed to sit down for the Eucharistic Prayer and if not for some brave souls who stood up, we would have been sitting down. During the consecration the Priest instead of geneflecting only bowed. Mass was celebrated without a chasuble and only with a stole.
Note that 2 Churches are just a stone throw’s away and the Cathedral is just right beside. There are a total of 9 altars on which the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass can be offered. 9 because one of the Churches still has 4 side altars as well as the high altar. The pews however are facing the wrong way for the side altars. Out of the 9 altar, on 5 of them Mass would have to be celebrated ad orientum.
