I am always overwhelmed with uneasiness and guilt during the excruciating wait between when I sinned (usually Friday or Saturday) and Confession before Sunday Mass! Could anyone tell me how to deal with that?
Sometimes, that is easier said than done. What if the sin is something that has become deeply ingrained or habitual, such as lying or viewing pornography? Why not stop all the sinning? Why do something you think is bad?
Lying ordinarily is venial (unless it is in court or otherwise grave). So would not keep one from Holy Communion. (but of course should be repented of…etc)such as lying
Good point; I just wanted to give an example of a habitual sin which didn’t have anything to do with the late Onan.Lying ordinarily is venial (unless it is in court or otherwise grave). So would not keep one from Holy Communion. (but of course should be repented of…etc)
Pray. Offer it up in atonement for your sins, and those of the whole world. It is a necessary pain, it helps to keep us from sinning again.I am always overwhelmed with uneasiness and guilt during the excruciating wait between when I sinned (usually Friday or Saturday) and Confession before Sunday Mass! Isn’t that why God sent down Jesus? There is no excuse for sinning. If it were so easy to stop completely there would be no need for religion. Confession exists because people will sin.Why not stop all the sinning? Why do something you think is bad?
Guilt is good. It’s what drives us to repentence. The time to worry is when you stop feeling guilt.I am always overwhelmed with uneasiness and guilt during the excruciating wait between when I sinned (usually Friday or Saturday) and Confession before Sunday Mass!
