Yes, many will seek training. But some won’t. So by claiming in all caps, that “THEY HAVE HAD THE REQUIRED TRAINING,” you are ignoring the fact that for some, there is no required training.And my point remains that gun owners will seek the training on their own. We as firearm enthusiast like training. We like going to the range. If it makes you feel warm and fuzzy then by all means lobby your state reps to require training for CCW holders.
This is the thing the gun grabbers don’t get because they are afraid and don’t understand guns. Fear breeds irrational thinking. EVERY gun owner I know prides themselves on knowing tactics, and having tight groups. We compete with each other on this. For those who fear guns “tight groups” means you are able to consistently shoot on or near the bullseye. It’s a sign of proficient marksmanship.Our course is eight hours, with renewal every two years. Every CCW holder I know spends far more time at the range than that, though.
Every time a state has had “shall issue” concealed carry permits the gun grabbers come out generating irrational fear that there will be blood in the streets and it will be the wild west. THE FACTS prove that it does NOT happen. I am not against it. I simply have no opinion that is superior to the police and the people of Great Britain as to how best equip themselves. I am ignorantly familiar with the situation.I am amazed that you are against such a thing.
CCW holders do need training on gun laws such as where you can carry, when you can shoot, etc. I did a quick Google search and I think what you mean are the seven states that just allow concealed carry without a permit. If these people want to carry out of state they do have to apply for a permit. I believe that gun owners will get the necessary training on their own. Ask yourself if you really need an instructor to tell you common sense things like “keep guns out of reach of children”. We all know this. Those of you who are afraid of guns see gun owners as all drunken idiots named Bubba who shoot beer cans off their friends head. The evidence shows that when permits are issued the CCW holders are not engaging in rampant violence.By claiming that all concealed carry permit holders have had the required training, when some require no training, you undermine your own claims.
Think about it. If a UK officer comes up against an offender armed with s knife or gun is he better off armed or unarmed? Is the UK immune from violent and mentally I’ll offenders? Take it further what happens if a female UK officer encounters a 6ft 4inch 250 lb angry subject who is determined not to go to prison so he decides to break the officer’s neck. Isn’t it obvious that having access to a firearm is a valuable option? I shouldn’t even have to be saying these things. Police don’t have the option of running away. yup sadly its much different era now,…Here is the problem. When I grew up, every farmer and rancher around had guns. They would have thought assault type weapons we’re completely absurd, heck my dad and uncle’s made fun of handguns. When I was a young adult, going to a shooting range, all you saw were deer rifles, and other traditional hunting weapons. Now it’s all ar-15s and military style weapons. Our gun culture has changed, drastically, in the last 30 years, not for the better.
