I had a high school teacher who told us a story about his daughter, who had married a man from New Jersey. He claimed it was true.

Her husband was a businessman and fairly well off. They lived in a nice neighborhood. One day, she left her house in the morning and went to her car parked in front of her house. The tires were slashed, the windshield was smashed and there was an anonymous letter on the driver’s seat that advised her to mind her own business and not stick her nose in where it didn’t belong.

She was terrified and called the police. They weren’t very helpful, treating it as a common case of vandalism. Her husband was just as mystified about the incident.

In a statement issued late Thursday, Mexico’s federal attorney general’s office said Mexican officials were advised of operations north of the border against suspected traffickers. But the Mexican agency said it “had no knowledge of the existence of an operation that might include the transgression or controlled trafficking of arms to Mexican territory.”

The attorney general’s statement said Mexico would never have given permission for weapons to enter the country as part of Operation Fast and Furious, under which U.S. agents permitted the purchase of weapons to build more sweeping criminal cases against crime bosses.

“The government of Mexico has not given nor will it give its authorization, tacit or express, under any circumstance, for that to occur,” the agency said in the most extensive comments the government has offered on the matter so far.

A statement issued by the U.S. Embassy here Thursday said American officials had kept Mexican counterparts informed “as plans unfolded on operations in the United States” through Jan. 25, when 20 suspected weapons traffickers were arrested in Arizona. On Friday, the embassy said there was “no contradiction” between the Mexican statement and information provided by American officials.

A CBS news segment, last year, offered a DEA agent tracking gun sales to the border, who was then stymied by senior officials when the perps. crossed. When he blew the whistle, his career tanked but superiors were promoted before having to provide congressional testimony.
So I proofer a personal opinion, gun runner design was to create a crisis with arms in Mexico coming from the US. The intent of which, stirring up a domestic uproar so as to install more draconian gun ownership laws. It backfired because of the relatively easy to discern incompetence of our elected and unelected leadership.

Because it was a covert operation they probably knew that informing the Mexican Government, would sabotage the operation.

The GOP is attempting to us this as a Witch Hunt, but it will backfire, being most American Voters could care less about it.

BTW, do you think the US should’ve informed the Pakistani Government, that we were going into take out Bin Laden?

Tony Coulson, the DEA’s agent in charge of Southern Arizona during Fast and Furious, says many federal field agents knew the ATF was walking guns to Mexico, but supervisors told them to back off when they objected.

“Clearly, we went too far,” Coulson said. “The question we had among rank and file law enforcement was, ‘When is someone going to call ATF on this, when is someone going to tell them to stop?’”

If you have that information Rep. Darrell Issa would love to talk to you - so would the Mexican government.

If the Mexican government did to the US what we did to them we would have declared it an act of war. This witch-hunt as you call it is an impeachable offence if the GOP had any guts.

I think more of america should arm themselves to not only protect themselves but their neighborhood as well. Its time to take back what has been taken away by fear and liberal america. The second amendment gives us that right and it wont be tolerated when people try to take it away!
