Let us pray for the souls of all those who were killed in this horrific tragedy. :gopray:

Let me guess, was it some more “radical” Muslims? I hate to say this but it seems that the vast majority of Muslims are radicals! I mean, yeah, a lot of them seem to be peaceful but I often wonder if most of them aren’t radical in secret!

And when he had passed from thence, he came into their synagogues. And behold there was a man who had a withered hand, and they asked him, saying: Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him. But he said to them: What man shall there be among you, that hath one sheep: and if the same fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not take hold on it and lift it up? How much better is a man than a sheep? Therefore it is lawful to do a good deed on the sabbath days. Then he saith to the man: Stretch forth thy hand; and he stretched it forth, and it was restored to health even as the other. And the Pharisees going out made a consultation against him, how they might destroy him. But Jesus knowing it, retired from thence: and many followed him, and he healed them all. And he charged them that they should not make him known. That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaias the prophet, saying: Behold my servant whom I have chosen, my beloved in whom my soul hath been well pleased. I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles. He shall not contend, nor cry out, neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets. The bruised reed he shall not break: and smoking flax he shall not extinguish: till he send forth judgment unto victory. And in his name the Gentiles shall hope. Then was offered to him one possessed with a devil, blind and dumb: and he healed him, so that he spoke and saw. And all the multitudes were amazed, and said: Is not this the son of David? But the Pharisees hearing it, said: This man casteth not out devils but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils. And Jesus knowing their thoughts, said to them: Every kingdom divided against itself shall be made desolate: and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand. And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself: how then shall his kingdom stand? And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? Therefore they shall be your judges. But if I by the Spirit of God cast out devils, then is the kingdom of God come upon you. Or how can any one enter into the house of the strong, and rifle his goods, unless he first bind the strong? and then he will rifle his house. He that is not with me, is against me: and he that gathereth not with me, scattereth. Therefore I say to you: Every sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven men, but the blasphemy of the Spirit shall not be forgiven. And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but he that shall speak against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him neither in this world, nor in the world to come. Either make the tree good and its fruit good: or make the tree evil, and its fruit evil. For by the fruit the tree is known. O generation of vipers, how can you speak good things, whereas you are evil? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. A good man out of a good treasure bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of an evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. But I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall render an account for it in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
(Mat 12:9-37 DRB)

Muslims are against Jesus since they deny His many true claims of Divinity and death, and resurrection!

"Al-Qaeda’s Iraqi affiliate, the Islamic State of Iraq, claimed responsibility for the attack on “the dirty place of the infidel which Iraqi Christians have long used as a base to fight Islam”.

It said in a statement posted on radical Islamic websites that it was an action against the Christian church in Egypt."

Puts our little pet peeve issues with the Church in North America into perspective doesn’t it.

Yes, we have a lot to fix here at home, but we are not dying at Mass at the hands of terrorists.

May they all rest in the peace of Christ for eternity.

Would these people, who were MURDERED yesterday, be considered Martyrs for the Faith now?

God have mercy on the survivors and the families of those taken from us— and He convert those who perpetuate this Evil (Al-Qaida)

I just hope this act doesn’t inspire other would be terrorists to start targeting Catholic Churches all over the world. :crossrc:

Koran 9:5

Sahih International
And when the sacred months have passed, then kill the polytheists wherever you find them and capture them and besiege them and sit in wait for them at every place of ambush. But if they should repent, establish prayer, and give zakah, let them [go] on their way. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

?A RELIGION OF PEACE?

Yes - they are most certainly martyrs. They were targeted BECAUSE they are Catholic.

For the sake of His sorrowful passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Eternal rest grant unto them O Lord
and let perpetual light shine upon them.
May they + rest in peace.
Amen

Pope Benedict XVI condemned the “absurd violence” against Christians in Iraq on Monday after two priests and 35 worshippers were killed in a hostage drama at a cathedral in Baghdad.
“I pray for the victims of this absurd violence, all the more ferocious in that it struck defenceless people united in the house of God, which is a place of love and reconciliation,” Benedict told pilgrims in St Peter’s Square during an address to mark All Saints’ Day.
