I’ve been practicing saying it both ways now, so I’m bilingual on this.
Oooo! I’m impressed! 😃

I am exactly the same on the first point Alan! I can’t stand ‘amongst’! My brother and sister use it even though my mum and dad don’t, but I never made an issue of it (I wanted to though) because I thought that it’s probably the correct pronunciation and most people just don’t use it. Thanks Ignatius for clearing that up, I’ll bring it up and hopefully they will listen to me next time we pray the rosary together and we’ll be free of that word.

As for the comma, never noticed that before, but it’s not the kind of thing that would bother me.
A short lesson on the importance of the comma.
No price too high!
No, price too high!

very good and very funny… :rotfl: , but still you cannot know by a persons speech what is in their hearts, however we can recall the scripture ‘thy speech betrays thee’, so those of us who are called to know this, know this and practise this and those of us who do not know this act the best they can within the realms of their conscience and none should judge another as everything is grace. With Jesus things are never clear cut and straight forward because justice is always balanced with mercy and charity always balanced with prudence and the balance must never be tipped! 🙂

Not being an expert on Latin myself - when I pray the Ave Maria and on the rare, but welcomed occasions when the Sanctus and the Agnus Dei are sung at Mass, I use the Castillan Spanish pronunciation. Since “castellano” came from Latin, I figured that they are close enough.

You know what…the very act of praying is God given (everything is grace) and so whatever details you leave out the Holy Spirit makes it a wonderful prayer and that is my consolation because sometimes the ramblings and searchings of my heart leave much to be desired and as such I know my prayer is perfect because though I am imperfect I pray in Spirit and Truth…no need for me (or anyone else) to nit pick and worry then eh? 🙂
