There are three of us and always have been, and things aren’t going well at all for any of us.
  1. Oldest daughter in a family where the mother and the two oldest daughters both have eating disorders and the mother’s control issues (despite being half a continent away from her child) are making them worse. Has been making noises about suicide in the past few days.
  2. Over-worked, over-stressed student trying to finish a thesis and balance everything else, as well as seek out work for when she graduates in three months.
  3. Author finding herself obsessed with the nastiest, most painful ideas (“mindscrew”) who has taken to secluding herself with alcohol and a laptop rather than spending time with the other two.
Help?

My prayers are with you and your family Hilda. Lord, watch over these women, I pray to thee. Help them to find peace in your love Lord, and forgiveness for those that have caused them pain in their past. Comfort them with your love, so that they may share that comfort with each other, and unite in their healing. Grant them the courage and strength to face their weakness, and overcome it with your mercy and love.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women,
And blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners,
Now and at the hour of our death.

Blessed be the Architect of our salvation. It is his will that mankind should be made a new creation in him, that the old order should pass away and that all things should be renewed. Sustained by this living hope, let us pray:

    Lord, you promised us a new heaven and a new earth: constantly renew us through your Spirit,

In Your Divine Mercy, accompany them in each of their trials, illuminating their hearts and minds by the power of Your Holy Spirit. You love them so profoundly that they would faint in knowing its depth. You allow their testing, so that they face an uncertain future with the confidence gained from their sufferings. May they offer their sorrows up to Christ as a penance, gaining many graces as they do. Graciously allow that they remain focused on the next life of perfection, rather than the imperfections of this life. We ask this through Christ, our Lord, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, One God for ever and ever. Amen. Alleluia!
