A year ago I was literally near death from a sudden illness, and the only thing I could do was lie in bed in a dark room and listen to TV and pray. It was Mother Angelica’s shows, her and the Nuns rosary program twice every day, and other EWTN programs that kept me going, and increased my faith. There were so many times that the severe pain and vomiting made me want to truly just give up and stop fighting to get better, but there she was in the background, giving pep talks and sage advice, and many times, it seemed like she was speaking just to me. I know she’s been through alot of physical trials in her life, the most recently a stroke in 2001 which left her incapable of speaking, so she, too, has had serious adversity in her life, and has risen to meet it with prayer and grace.
SmallFish - welcome to the Catholic Church! Also, Raymond Arroyo has written several books about and with (name removed by moderator)ut from Mother Angelica, and they are very very good. Since I’m on a VERY limited budget, I was able to purchase mine in hardcover editions on EBay for as little as $4.95 each, including shipping. I even purchased several copies of the same books so that I can donate them to the local nursing homes for the residents to enjoy. If you haven’t read any, you really should. They are wonderful books, and she is truly a gift from God to all of us!
May she continue to be in all of our prayers until our Heavenly Father calls her home!
