The great man turns 89 today as he celebrates his birthday Bavarian style.

Happy birthday blessings to Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI! As we’d say in Ireland “May he live as long as he wants and never want as long as he lives!”
 
I’ve since found out that that picture is from his birthday last year, but it is a great picture him nevertheless.

I believe that history will look upon Pope Benedict XVI as one of the truly great and holy popes of our Church.

he was our Pope when I joined the Catholic church so that is why I am so fond of him.
