Which scientists are doing this research and have come to this conclusion? OK, I now see: young earth creation scientists.

Yes.

There aren’t an extraordinary amount of them, because over the last few years pretty much all scientists have been forced to yield to Stephen Hawking and other pseudo-scientists.

The Church does not require us to embrace the sort of anti-intellectual pseudo-science this poster is referencing. It’s called young earth creationism and it’s primarily promoted by evangelical Protestants with a very literalist understanding of scripture.

The Big Bang model was actually originally developed by a Catholic priest / astronomer: Monsignor Lemaitre.

Ah yes, the great Hawking Conspiracy. I believe many a sincere Christian scientist has been visited by his goons:
“This here is a beautiful lab. It would be a real shame if it were to get busted up [wink wink]”.

Can you please quote the science you are getting 8000 years from.

No link, you discuss who, how, why and what. Especially their methodology and credentials

Virtually all the Early Fathers and Doctors of the Church were unanimous in their belief that less than or about 6000 years separated the creation from the birth of Christ. It has been about 2000 years since the birth of Christ, therefore I came to the determination that the creation happened approximately 8000 years ago.

Again, that is my estimate based on Early Church Fathers and Doctors. I could be off a couple years. I am in no way speaking on behalf of the creationist scientist community in any official capacity.

Have you published your determination in a peer reviewed journal
See the thing is this chatter, the op asked a valid question.

In answering we really need to stick to the body of knowledge,
Until we can make our own mark on it

Well, there’s actually science being done to support that the universe isn’t that old.
Your words

And then
About 8000 years I think.

The Early Church Fathers pretty much all agreed that less than 6000 years separated the creation form the birth of Christ.
Then you say it is your determination when asked where you got these figures

This is rightly a falsehood or misrepresentation of the truth of the current body of knowledge

ommit the first part of my statement.

There is science being done to support CREATIONSIM (should have said that rather than young universe), that is, that Earth and everything in it was created in Six days. I would really suggest researching it yourself.

How could Spielburg have created Jurassic Park without dinosaurs??

You make the mistake of placing the construct of human time onto God’s Time.
I am aware of some of the beliefs of creationism. One of them dictates a slowing down of (let you guess it) . Now according to this theory, when Adam and Eve were in the Garden, lighting a fire, the effect of this theory would have cause a nuclear type explosion.

And the act of begetting Cain and Abel literally the same

The idea of “fossil fuels” is wrong. If you watch Disney Fantasia (1940) you will see the concept that dinosaurs went glug, among renditions of symphonic orchestrations and became fossil fuels. We now know that this is not the source of “fossil fuels”, the source is actually black algae, and it doesn’t take millions of years to produce, we can reproduce it now in a short period of time, and we do in fact do this. The problem is that speculatory theory history science that is taught to a generation ago ago becomes very hard to overcome.

I actually had a pet dinosaur, but I set it free a few years back. It seemed discontent on my little preserve. Sorry, can’t say where. It’s not a really big one, an omnivore, and about the size of a small SUV.

You make the mistake of assuming that God didn’t take six days to create the earth.

Virtually all of the Early Church Fathers and Doctors were also unanimous in believing that Genesis 1-13 was a LITERAL, historically accurate account of the creation.

Pope Leo XIII (or maybe Pius XII?) said that we should take scripture literally unless reason suggests that we shouldn’t.
