Nope she had it right.
I’m a little late in offering my support, but Dawn does have it right. The politicians mentioned are an embarrassment to Holy Mother Church due to their very public scandalous stances on issues that are so contrary to the teachings of the Church.

Yep. And we all know that, but it makes it easier to defend your own thoughts and actions if you defend theirs. Pathetic.

SHUT IT DOWN

…Let me be very clear here Republicans, whether you cut the budget by $60 billion or $600 billion, we will still be with you. We want more, not less, of course, but we will take whatever cutting we can now and push for more later.

But there has never been a better moment to de-fund Planned Parenthood than now. Now is the time, and it may never come again. If you compromise on de-funding Planned Parenthood, if you continue to allow babies to suffer federally funded death, we are done.

Done.

Make Obama and the Democrats choose, Planned Parenthood or shutdown. No compromise. No surrender.

Don’t blink. Don’t waver. If they choose shutdown, then they choose shutdown.

Shut it down or we will shut you down. "

Whatever you may think of those Catholic politicians, Harry Reid, as a Mormon, has no more allegiance or obligation to the Catholic Church than we do to the CLDS.

:amen:

Coming in late to the party myself.

Dawn, please feel welcome to include me in your we.

I don’t understand why PP needs to be supported by tax dollars, at all. They are a for profit organisation. In 2007, they made a profit of $114.8M. Taking a look at their expenses, the vast majority was for Medical Expenses at $588.3M or 65% contrasting to expenditure on Family Planning, a mere $16.4M, only 1%. Medical Services means abortions.

Why should tax dollars be going to any company’s profit, much less to one that makes it’s money by killing babies, exploiting girls by complicit arrangements with pimps and child traffickers, and enabling continued child abuse by not reporting underage abortions?
Like Buffalo mentioned, eugenics.

A coalition of pro-abortion U.S. Senate Democrats led by Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) say they would rather see the federal government shut down than allow cuts to Planned Parenthood’s federal funding.

Currently House Republicans and Senate Democrats are locked in a bitter struggle over passing a Continuing Resolution that would fund the government until the end of the 2011 fiscal year (FY). However, despite the federal government being on track to a $1.6 trillion deficit this year, adding on to an already colossal $14.1 trillion debt, Democrats continue to resist GOP proposals to start off with $61 billion in various cuts. The amount being debated is less than the debt the federal government accumulates in one day of spending.

Shut the government down then.
Is the USA really a democracy when you have forced taxation of people to pay for abortions?

It doesn’t make his support of the murder of innocent life any less despicable.

I hope and pray that the federal government quits funding Planned Parenthood. I hate the fact that my taxpayer dollars could be going to support this murderous organization. Does anyone know what the likelihood is of getting a law passed to ban funding of Planned Parenthood?

Well, that’s kind of the problem here. The republicans with a majority in the house are trying to pass a budget that cuts PP, while the senate controlled by the democrats still are threatening to shut government down if they do not include the PP funding.

Either someone has to give, or government closes the doors.

There’s big bucks in abortion.

If you can’t afford one-it will be provided.

The sale of baby body parts is a big part of it:

…Our tax dollars are the icing on the cake. Without it, they wouldn’t stop.

It’s all about the m o n e y.

(Can’t serve 2 masters).

God Bless you.

In 2007, $114.8M taxpayer dollars went straight into the pockets of those who own PP.

So, in addition to using tax dollars to pad their profit margin, they sell the ‘products of abortion’ to cosmetic companies, research laboratories, etc etc. (where is the barfing smilie when you need one) I sure the cosmetic companies don’t put on the label that some of the ingredients in their products come from aborted babies, like collagen from baby skin. How many of us are using these products in ignorance?

Unfortunately, seeing as how it is Big Bucks, I don’t think losing the ~$336M of taxpayer money will shut them down. They will still stay in business and make a profit without taxpayer subsidization.
Like Buffalo mentioned, eugenics.
So Democrats, after all this time saying that they are for the ‘little people’, the minorities, the less advantaged, in truth, support murdering minorities before they have a chance to be born?

Not those little people. They can’t vote.

God Bless you.

But, Catholic voters have an obligation to not vote for pro-a bortion rights politicians like Harry Reid.

The Mormons I know are all pro-life, but of course that is anecdotal I realize. Is there an official Mormon teaching on the issue or are Mormons free to vote/believe what they want on the issue?

My LDS Employer said their church has taken a stand against abortion.

She teaches their faith. I will ask her tomorrow. Great question.

God Bless you.

Oh, if only shutting down the government would cease abortion! I’d take the anarchy!😃
I was thinking the same thing. To counter Reid, I’d rather the federal government be shut down entirely than have compulsory sponsorship of an organization that murders its most innocent and helpless citizens.

Look into it, but I don’t see any need. They are very clear on their website:
Human life is a sacred gift from God. Elective abortion for personal or social convenience is contrary to the will and the commandments of God. Church members who submit to, perform, encourage, pay for, or arrange for such abortions may lose their membership in the Church.

The only thing I stand at odds with them on is the choice of words. Convenience isn’t the only circumstance that makes abortion deplorable. 🙂

That is a great point which is lost on all the dyed in the wool Democrat catholics who stubbornly support the party based on the false notion that they’re for “the little guy” the “worker” the “union man”, “minorities” etc. What nonsense. The Democrat party on the national level, whatever it was before when guys like Scoop Jackson, JFK and Truman were running it, is now the party of abortion, gay rights, feminism, and identity politics and has been for many years. The Republican party may have its flaws. Disagree with its support for the conservative philosophy of the free market if you want. But is a party whose members and voters overwhelmingly support the sanctity of life. And yet, Catholics who should know better continue to vote Democrat. Go figure.

If you think so. I just think it inappropriate to presume to speak on behalf of others unilaterally. I personally wouldn’t say somethng to a group and include, “We, the posters on the CA Forum…” That’s because not everyone on the CAF would agree with me, and not everyone would want me to include them in whatever I was presenting.
Just out of curiousity, do you have anything of substance to add to this discussion or are you just gonna go on & on about people using “we,” “I,” and church affiliations?
