Something, after I had confessed kept popping into my head as the priest was correcting my sins. That something is, “Tell him you listened to rock-music.” I deliberately didn’t confess this because it’s not a sin, right? It’s neutral. Well now I feel I didn’t make a good confession, even though, I know this isn’t a sin, but, typically when I get this, ‘Ooooh, you forgot …,’ I tell the priest that as well. I didn’t do this this time. Either way, I asked for a sign if I should recieve the Eucharist and I think God told me twice not to recieve, so, even if I DID hold back on God’s mercy, I didn’t add sacrilidge to my sins…of which confessed may not be valid. At worst, I may have refused God’s Forgiveness and mocked Him, at best, I may have committed scrupulouscity and am worrying that I am not confessing enough (in general, not just deliberately NOT admitting something).
I’m going to pray and think about this and if it was a sin, hopefully I can get to confession on Wednesday, if not, well, hopefully I won’t die before I can make a good confession again.
So, the question stands, has anybody else held back anything in Confession or gotten this feeling? If by holding anything back, you’ve gotten a nagging feeling saying to admit to this, even though, you don’t know why and you didn’t? (i.e., not talking about holding back a sin, but, as soon as the priest starts talking, you remember something more…and do you usually say what you remember then?)
